must have changed ME, or they don't have a regular ME they use
I agree rottun's has definitely got louder/limited harder

Play me – tracks go hard on the limiter as well
http://www.beatport.com/label/play-me-records/13208

maybe that’s the key to success as both them labels live in the beatport top 10's

beatport is a weird place, i only tend to go there for exclusives rarely. it seems to be representative of the US/Canadian listeners honestly
the thing that kills me is excision got himself a nice set of barefoot monitors so he has to hear the shit (then again he is always on the road)
i just find it to be a shame because it's getting noticeable when their older stuff had great masters

not available on wax and it would likely be a different master as to not damage the cutters head and keep it playable
mastering for wax has a lot more nuances to it heh

Really? Tracks pressed to vinyl are mastered differently?

yeah it was hypithetical, are vinyl masters affected by this loudness war you speak of?

You can go loud, we have loud cut's, it's a fine line, a ridiculously loud cut (from the lathe to then go for pressing) is in danger of not playing back as well, as this would mean increased horizontal and vertical movements of the stylus in the groove, it'll probably skip all over the place. Sending really hot signals from the cutter amp to the head, can damage the cutter head. You'd be looking at paying thousand's to repair. When really all that is needed is for the end user to turn up the volume of their playback system.

In an age where everybody wants to touch everything, you'd think that was the most logical solution to a problem that never really existed. Things have been loud enough since the 60's.
