Yes. He said he was in Manchester. Who else would you hang out with in said circumstances.

This makes me want to stab somebody. yolo
Re: Drake releasing a Aaliyah album.......
i think this whole post-humous revival trend is incredibly distasteful.... bad when it was holo-pac at coachella, worse when aaliyah's work is being manipulated by someone who was still suckling the teat of canadian teen tv drama when she died.
sampling/making 1 track as an homage is one thing, putting an entire album out something different entirely.
that being said, someone from aaliyah's camp must have okayed this/agreed to receive a check from it.

so many post humous albums, it's part of being an entertainer with music that other people still own
not justifying it, just saying - it's business.
look at:
Bob Marley
Biggie
Tupac
Big L
Jerry Garcia
Jimmy Hendrix
Kurt Cobain
shit, pretty much every pop artist that died has had at least one post humous album. it's par for the course at this point

different when someone is quite literally reviving pac from the dead & making "him" say "wassup coachella!!!" or whatever the fuck they voiced over though, no?
or having your work taken and re-interpreted by somebody else entirely for their own profit? (obviously for some of aaliyah's peeps' profit too, but you know what i mean - aaliyah-via-drake is not the same as a straight up aaliyah album released post humously.)

I actually think the Pac thing was way creepier & worse than this. This is just music.
If she was a hologram dancing around on stage with him that would be on a whole 'nother level & definitely cross the line.

incoming drake's 2013 international tour FEATURING aaliyah!!
Re: Drake releasing a Aaliyah album.......
tbh I feel the same abt a hologram as this, at least with a hologram they are putting effort and P into it and it is promoting her (not Drake)!

Hendrix was releasing recorded material largely already finished (but occasionally messed about with badly, rarely though).
Tupac revival was pathetically clawing at the dead
This looks like a shallow attempt at selling an album which has been clearly abandoned by those who were actually connected at the time and claimed by the unrelated, crap and popular.
I think Bela makes some really valid points too for sure

Surprise nothing was made after she died. Only a tribute by Missy/Timba/Magoo, etc.wolf89 wrote:Hendrix was releasing recorded material largely already finished (but occasionally messed about with badly, rarely though).

That would have sold.
Would love to hear a new Aaliyah song.
I loved those old collabs, not so much love for those made the past decade.
Maybe just lots of good memories (personally) of those days.
