Leave the eu so we can make our own laws regarding immigration.

It's not a members club that you 'pay' into to get a free sandwich, lol. You may never even get a sandwich.

It's a social contract to which we all automatically agree to as citizens of this country. And part of our end of the bargain is to agree to certain conditions to receive those benefits, has nothing to do with how much you pay into the system.

It's either for everyone or it's for no-one.
Yeah but for everyone who is a resident of the country who pays the benefits surely, not everyone in the whole world. Where would you draw the line? what if millions of poor people started coming to england and claiming benefits would that be ok?
That would not only be massively unprecedented but also highly unlikely! UK's not that great, and the rest of the world isn't that shite.

Kind of a weird argument that really.

And yes, I'm talking about people who live in the UK.

And if that were to happen, then obviously we'd have a problem. But it's not happening, and probably won't happen.

Like most people I don't know about enough about the EU to really say whether we should stay members or not.

There's a lot more to it than just immigration and giving money to Greece..

yeah obviously and i don't really know much about it either, but the idea that if we left we would no longer be able to trade with eu countries is bullshit, we buy more off them then they buy off us.

I just think it's rediculous how a lot of our laws are made in belgium by people who have never really been properly elected.

M8son is one of the more clued up people on political opinions here. He's not nearly radical enough, but I'll take it.

I know bro, I'm not a retard. I just wish there was a little more independence in the whole thing.

Well this piece on Al Jazeera points of the truth in what's going on: it's not a devaluation of skills that going on, it's a devaluation of people. There's no shortage of money, in fact wealth is increasing, but people are still being paid less.

http://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/opinio ... 40811.html
Surviving the post-employment economy

The author argues that in the new economy, it's people, not skills or majors, that have lost value.

A lawyer. A computer scientist. A military analyst. A teacher.

What do these people have in common? They are trained professionals who cannot find full-time jobs. Since 2008, they have been tenuously employed - working one-year contracts, consulting on the side, hustling to survive. They spent thousands on undergraduate and graduate training to avoid that hustle. They eschewed dreams - journalism, art, entertainment - for safer bets, only to discover that the safest bet is that your job will be contingent and disposable.

Unemployed college graduates are told that their predicament is their own fault. They should have chosen a more "practical" major, like science or engineering, and stayed away from the fickle and loathsome humanities. The reality is that, in the "jobless recovery", nearly every sector of the economy has been decimated. Companies have turned permanent jobs into contingency labour, and entry-level positions into unpaid internships.

Changing your major will not change a broken economy.

That was my point, like lower-middle skilled industry's have developed beyond the capabilities of younger generations or that kids are not being educated enough to do them  ...There seems to be this notion that every kid leaving school should have high end programming skills, in able for a low-level IT support company take them on and the alternative is "attract the best" from elsewhere.
The reality is that these companies won't train people on job because it may 'compromise productivity' or they "can't afford to". You know it's bullshit when shelf stacking jobs are offering NVQ's before they will pay above 2.16p/h.
