Been mentioned in another thread but The Body have an album coming where they worked with Haxan Cloak.

First track available online to hear off it is amazing. Dark and heavy as fuck

And completely on the other end of the spectrum.

I really recommend the new Sun Kil Moon album Benji. It has a sound and approach to writing lyrics on it that at on an immediate level when you start a track sounds like it could run the risk of being possibly over sentimental or cheesy. However the fact that they're the most bare and honest lyrics I've heard in a long time really make the songs have a genuine impact upon me as they develop. This straight forward and personal approach coupled with some beautiful sounding guitar parts it makes for a record that is both a peaceful reflective listen and an undeniably sad listen over all.
For me at least anyway. Not bothered really if no-one else likes it or everyone actually does think it's cheesy.

^I've only heard it once, but i can already hear the quality of it. This is probably the first album of Sun Kil Moon that i like.

probably the best band to come out of the french screamo/post-hc scene imo. very black metal influenced. this is off their latest album

fuck that the body track is heavy as.. i've alienated myself from all sort of heavy or aggressive music over the years. i used to listen to some hardcore, doom or stoner stuff and now listening to stuff like that new super-dark electronic stuff or bands like the one above is almost a displeasure lol can't handle it

I've got The Body booked to play in a church with a bunch of noise/doom acts :corndance: and maybe something related coming later in the year, rad.

On a different tip, I recommend this guy, maybe my favourite producer, 2 albums this year :corndance:
