He is somebody that should be baned. I didn't mind his shitty attitude, it was pretty artful, and I think he was largely misunderstood. But potentiating the prosecution of forum members is utter bullshit.

not entirely true, there has to be intent for it to be a crime. (right click > save image would do)

You do not know the intent requirements for relevant laws in all jurisdictions, and some jurisdictions have NO intent requirements.

haven't read all of this, sorry.
a few thoughts.

1. Discourse. I really like the "get notified"-feature. do you get notifications implemented in the actual forum page? because I can't be bothered going through a dozen e-mails per day. it would be really sick if this would work in a facebook style, and I'd definitely appreciate anything in this vein. snh is a bit too crowded for me; I only spend a moderate time on dsf and about 60% of it I scroll through the newest gd / tunes threads. keeping tabs on the snh threads which entertain me or intrigue me or I find generally interesting is a bit of a hassle. so this feature would help me out in that regard, allowing me to be more active where I want to participate / contribute / whatever.

2. Community. not much to say about this, since I don't really feel part of it; I guess there is a "clique" (or the remnants of it) of long-time friends keeping this place busy, with some bystanders cheering in once in a while (guess I'm a bystander?). don't really know what to change about it. I know the gd and snh regulars (as in: I know their names and have a general perception of their personality). yeah, nothing intelligible to add I'm afraid.

3. Music: not much fun browsing in the trap thread when on every page there's 1000 youtube vids killing my computer. can't videos be hidden by default, similar to the spoil tag? I saw this on another board (vBulletin though) and it makes shit much easier and I find myself browsing vid-heavy threads more often. honestly I don't know why so many people still display a negative attitude towards dubstep; some young fellas have gone a long way and it's very exciting at the moment... eh.
