Realistically, I guess so, but there was an actual forum for that. First came to my attention during the BuckUK stolen tunes fiasco.RKM wrote:is this not technically futuregarageforum too

When people complain about a forum having been better, I think it's more an issue of them just missing their friends tbh.

Mason, it isn't rose tinted bs. People used to be positive, ie believe in the future while acknowledging the challenges of the present. People used to support each other. People used to try. People shared deep insight. People were funny. People did things. People were deeply introspective. People had unique points of view. There was a time here I didn't even post, the conversations were so good, I didn't have anything to add, if I had a point to make, invariably someone would make it for me (and no bigups to be given

Somewhere along the line we forgot we all originally came here to meditate on bassweight, is what you're saying.

Meh fair enough, i have read through quite a few old threads and doesn't seem much has changed although maybe i had to be there.nowaysj wrote: Mason, it isn't rose tinted bs. We are in a fallen state. You don't know, you weren't here, yet you feel confident in asserting your unfounded opinion - which is maybe the point of what some of us are saying.

It was more heterogeneous here before. There were a lot of different types of people. People brought a lot of different perspectives to the table. And so it was the totality of it all.
Anyway, this place is still jokes, it's all good.

Biggups killed off a lot of individual character as people scrabbled to align their humour attempts with the general population in return for meaningless electronic trinket gathering.
Re: Post like another ninja SNH GENERATION 2.0 EDITION
Yeah i think big ups have definitely had a negative effect.
Although they have highlighted the narcissists among us so not all bad.

So tired of wub complaining about bigups. Just turn it off already. Who cares?

There IS a difference, sure, but nothing that cant'be attributed to the loss of a constant flow of members we had because dubstep was still fresh. Old members left, new members joined and people kept it interesting by not making the same tired ol' joke we now see all the time (because we've kind of isolated ourselves). This place was less stuck in a 'subculture', but the quality of members hasn't decreased, and neither have the insights.
I think we're just getting bored of each other.

I don't disagree with you in that there were more people so generally it was just better, fresher, but I do disagree in terms of the character of the core of the snh. Peoples life experiences where much broader, and people had more open minds, there were more independent thinkers. Now there are a lot more simple minded msm nurtured narcissistic pleasure seekers.Genevieve wrote:I was around when you were and I agree with m8son.nowaysj wrote:Wait, is your jag a really deep character posting of me?wub wrote:The problem is that in shrinking, we've lost a lot of good members and are left with the trash.
