Although some death metal is sick, like As Blood Runs Black or Whitechapel
those are both deathcore, death metal is like bloodbath, vomitory & stuff; get your subgenres straight XD

deathcore and metalcore is just poser metal, metal for the teens of this generation to pretend they know about metal.

errmmmm i dunno bout that, the faceless? veil of maya? the boy will drown? BTBAM?
the technical/progressive end of the whole deathcore thing is really interesting (granted a lot of deathcore is total shite)
the whole deathmetal vs deathcore argument is pretty redundant 2bh considering deathcore pretty much IS death metal but with a few other influences added into the mix

I like all metal genres, but Black, Death and folk metal the most.

But that doesn't mean you won't find me in a closet with Mötley Crüe and a pink underpants sometimes. -t-

Started off with Nightwish/Hammerfall from when I was 12 or so and didn't listen to anything else but metal 'till I was 18.

Some notable bands are Immortal, Dawn of Demise, Varg, Eluveitie...

What am I doing here?! Just saved myself from making a 50 page list :corndance:

Oooof did you get yourself in trouble. :D It's true, there are a lot of bands like that, with youtube comments about how br00tal the breakdowns are and stuff... I tend to compare it to brostep. I'm sick of both but there are still some good brostep (and some good deathcore) artists out there. I'm a huge fan of more melodic deathcore like The Black Dahlia Murder, Between the Buried and Me (<3), Architects, but i also enjoy the grinding deathcore that only consists out of breakdowns and blastbeats in between 'em, but i'm much more difficult in that genre. All the new stuff is crap. But for instance, job for a cowboy, all shall perish, whitechapel, yes, even the first album Bring me the horizon made is awesome. And not only deathcore, but also faggy metalcore gets in my playlist and cd closet. I'm a huge fan of HORSE the Band, On Broken Wings, Armor For The Broken. Then you have more punky stuff like gallows, with also some metalcore influences, that's just awesome mate.

That being said, i get the feeling of repitition far more with death metal than with deathcore, especially stuff like vomitory and bloodbath and stuff like that. I don't even listen to those anymore, just when i'm drumming it can be nice. But even then, most deathcore drummers are way more original in there drumlines. MOST. I'm not talking about awesome bands like Opeth, Meshuggah, and so on, those have the most awesome drummers, but seriously, a lot of metal is shit. I nearly puked when i heard Trivium. Holy fuck how can anyone like that power/speed metal things like that. And even for thrash metal there's a lot of crap. Old skool thrash beats it all.
