hey crabs...layoff the insults eh its not a good look and if you want to ride his dick so hard i hope you dont actually give him crabs
for the record i've always thought his drums were sloppy. He's admitted to masking the crap samples with crackle, not being up with the play on sequencing software so probably doesnt know how to quantize and as for criticizing the vocal samples.how do you interpret his use of them ?
as for the tune. I'm not impressed with the bit i heard so will reserve judgment til i hear the whole thing
thanks for your time in responding tho. your input is much appreciated

^^^whos that ?
but re:burial
i like the idea of his tunes i just think he fails in the execution and dont think he's worthy of the fawning adulation. i'd bet even he's perplexed by it and possibly even embarrassed.
Maybe he deliberately set out to and captured the post 9/11 UK zeitgeist. All skittery and jittery and doom and gloom
I can appreciate the artistry involved cos great art doesnt have to be about beauty and with his vocal samples i think thats what he's saying. Like the damien hirst of music, art isnt about skill. it's about vision
i do hope we havent heard the best of him and hope he doesnt become a caricature of himself or trapped by the public perception of what burial is supposed to be
fuck having that expectation thrust upon him cos theres no way anyone can keep surpassing themselves to satisfy the sycophants. At some stage you plateau out or do you ?

yeah but the average dubsteppa isnt too bright eh deamonds so sometimes ya gotta repeat yourself til they get it. Eventually it becomes a formula repeated ad nauseum...
but zzzzZZZZzzzz is a lie cos i find burials music so insistent that i cant sleep thru it nor ignore it as muzak playing in the background.
on revisiting his albums i also find i cant listen to the whole things straight thru either. its like i get in a burial mood and after two tunes i snap out of it and go 'phew, i need to keep it real'
and nah Izz-e i think you just a made a freudian slip. c'mon man you know his music is tiring...heh

Blimey, Burial's really got to you, hasn't he? It's not often music affects people SO intensely!beatlejuice wrote:yeah but the average dubsteppa isnt too bright eh deamonds so sometimes ya gotta repeat yourself til they get it. Eventually it becomes a formula repeated ad nauseum...

yeah Joe, music has always been my drug of choice. I graduated from user to pusher and now back to user again and maybe part time pusher.
Always looking for the perfect high or low. In that sense you need the 'right' setting and drug to have a memorable experience
So for me burials like a depressant and i think he meant it to be cos he's admitted he cant seem to make an up tune. Id love to hear him try tho.
For all those who get jizzed about his every noodling. Heres a question.
Does hearing a new stuttery burial piece make you feel the same way as hearing a new tearout reso number or a funky glitched boxcutter tune ?
yeah/nah and why is that or dont you even bother to question it.
preferring instead to summarise your thoughts in a typical 3 syllable response on this site ?

Firstly, I just got to say I think these tunes are sick. I can't actually imagine how sick that second tune could sound well placed in the midst of some minimal/deep housey techy stuff. Ruffage boys?
Make it happen!
And I dunno what you're on about with burial not being able to make an "up" tune beatlejuice? If you really don't think he can and want an example, UK on untrue is quite possibly the most uplifting track ive ever heard in any form of music...ever

The only person getting "jizzed" about his every noodling (and every interview - as you seem to be able to quote everything he's said) right now is you.beatlejuice wrote:yeah Joe, music has always been my drug of choice.
