i think amit will be great but i agree i dont think he'd be playing all night like vivek and mala usually do. i think mala's actually in america or something so think it's pretty impossible for him to be there.

just read Vivek's comments on the facebook event page and he's saying definitely no mala - he'll be on first with the roots vibes then amits playing a 1 hour set then back to vivek for the rest of the night

Still gonna be a mega night im guessing. I guess this give VIVEK the chance to draw for some seriously old plates that he would never really play out... even at other systems because obviously Mala has taken up the other half of the set time. Looking forward to hear some of the tunes he draws for really. Expecting some serious Dub and Reggae??

Did anyone catch Oneman's yard session the other night by the way? He was playing strictly from his vinyl collection and I'm not gonna lie the guy has A COLLECTION as you'd might expect. I think he would kill it at System and his selection as ever would be seriously on point. I guess anyone who has been in the scene from the beginning would be sick at System. Kode9 for me would be another if his FWD 10th birthday (2007 set) was anything to go by...

No offence to Amit, his stuff im feeling. But I hope that its just Mala & Vivek or someone more rootsy when I get over to the next one from Aussie.

Didnt they have someone else playing for the first hour or so for the Warm up or did I imagine that? I was assuming it would be some what similar to that.

Edit: or just read the few posts above this

I'm pretty gutted tbh. I'm a bit skint right now... but as i've never been to System and never seen Mala live I decided to get tickets whilst I still could. Didn't want to miss an opportunity. Then I find out Mala's not even there. Pretty shitty to say the least. Torn between passing my tix on to someone else and just going to enjoy it anyway. It's just gay because the whole reasons I wanted to go was to see Mala

Vivek all night could be a tad too much I'd think.

It's not just that. I'd just rather wait and get tickets for the next one, when Mala is actually there. It's the only reason I want to go. I've seen VIVEK before. He's sick, but the whole reason I want to travel up from Pompey, get a hotel etc is to see Mala!!!!!

Someone play me some :i: lol

I hear you.
Especially considering it was the main reason you bought in advance.

I can't even sell or get a refund now. I shouldn't complain really, I expect i'll end up going and I expect i'll have a sick time. I'm just pissed i'm not going to see Mala, which is what I thought I was buying when I got the tickets

Even though you might not actually see him, I'm sure you will get to hear a good amount of his stuff since Vivek will most probably have a lot of Mala dubs with him on the night

True. VIVEK did say he has nuff Mala dubs but it's not necessarily like new tunes I actually want to hear it's more tunes like the James Blake remix of Changes I was hoping for seeing as Mala usually keeps that one for special occasions.

i know mala is mala, but don't under estimate vivek, look at his tunes, new & old... bassweight all the way, sick vibes, deep, heavy, the dubs hes gona have and then amit... pfftt amits absolutely destructive (in a good way) and 140 + 170, can't see this being anything short of spectacular.
