Amazing film

The bit with the kid in the pub :o
loved how 'cynical' and straight up the violent bits were. Really gave it an edge. From like the moment that English soldier gets shut up close it's just one long strecth of uncomfortable. Had a bit of 'fury' in it in that sense.

Watched REC, 2 days ago and the amityville horror yesterday, pretty good films but overall not the scariest things ever (tbf I watched them both during the day so that may have affected my judgement). Thinking to watch exorcism of Emily rose tonight, actually might just watch a load of horror films this holiday

Yeah original, obviously it looked a bit dated but was still pretty good imo. Apparently it's shit, but I still feel like watching annabelle, so that's gonna be today's film

A movie thats 2000-05, hollywood and would work well with Mullholland Drive & Lost in Translation in an essay on how Hollywood shaped desire. Suggestions?

Anyone watched John Wick yet? It seems like it should be entertaining, but so did Taken 2.

Blackhat

Had high hopes for a Michael Mann film but this was painfully shite. Pacing was all over the place, constant use of non diagetic voiceovers made me think i'd downloaded an out of sync copy and the plot was just fucking boring. Supposed 'tense' scenes involve Thor staring perplexed at a CMD line.
[+] Spoiler
and the final bit where he gets shot but survives because apparently duct taping a magazine to your chest stops bullets. And once they have their FBI and US marshal handlers killed they're allowed to just bugger off into the sunset with €46m and no one cares enough to follow them?
