yeah i suppose. cant say i would ever go for a vasectomy, because, and i know its petty, but women can so easily get the pill/inection/implant or woteva, why should i have to go through a medical procedure, two if i decide i wat kids at some point.bellybelle wrote:no they're reversible. see ...the pettiness...you're right...just cuz i'm not necessarily sure a lot of guys know what women go through being on the pill. because the longterm and sometimes short term side-effects of a woman being on birth control can be severe. i don't like them one bit but i'm on the pill. the cool thing about it, tho, is my man respects my decision because he understands just how much i'm undertaking to be on the pill. I think thats important. I don't ever want to be with a guy who thinks its easy. Its not easy. For the 1-2 days of operation time, a woman might have to suffer daily for months on end. So for two days of icing a crotch....versus months of (sometimes daily) migraines, bad cycles, pain and swelling, producing less lubrication, lowered sex drive, weight gain, and depression/suicidal tendencies; it seems more petty for the man to put 2 days over all of that, imo. Its just the way our system works...*shrugs*SilentK wrote:yeah i suppose. cant say i would ever go for a vasectomy, because, and i know its petty, but women can so easily get the pill/inection/implant or woteva, why should i have to go through a medical procedure, two if i decide i wat kids at some point.bellybelle wrote:no they're reversible. i do understand the effects of the pill, my girlfriend is currently on it and has bee for about 8-9 months now. so i understand better than most men the troubles that come with it.bellybelle wrote:see ...the pettiness...you're right...just cuz i'm not necessarily sure a lot of guys know what women go through being on the pill. because the longterm and sometimes short term side-effects of a woman being on birth control can be severe. i don't like them one bit but i'm on the pill. the cool thing about it, tho, is my man respects my decision because he understands just how much i'm undertaking to be on the pill. but im not just talking about the pill. why not the injection? that has far less side effects, and doesn't involve having a peice of plastic inserted into your arm. and all female forms of contraception either just wear out, or can be stopped whenever. men would have to go get another procedure done to "re-open the pathways" as it were.
and im not being nasty here, but a man ability to ejaculate, is very important in some peoples relationships, not my own particularly but yeh...

Depokene, one of the shots, usually has a higher dosage of hormones because it has to last longer so if a woman has trouble with a daily dosage of bc, she'll prolly fair worse on the shot, and its usually not recommended for women to start with the shot who haven't at first tried the pill, since once the hormones are injected, they have to ride it out. Hehehehe I tried that first when I was engaged. Ugh....will not go back. Ever.SilentK wrote:but im not just talking about the pill. why not the injection? that has far less side effects, and doesn't involve having a peice of plastic inserted into your arm. and all female forms of contraception either just wear out, or can be stopped whenever. men would have to go get another procedure done to "re-open the pathways" as it were.

As for the second, does having a vasectomy limit facials and whatnot? Does it mean you're not ejaculating or that there is just no sperm being released into the seminal fluid. If its just limiting the fertilization quotient, then you can cum all over her, sperm free.
I mean, lets just be honest here. What it comes down to is the differences in importance male and female issues are. A woman might have to endure all manner of suffering to protect herself from pregnancy, which all seems justified and expected, versus a man going in for reversible outpatient surgery. Most of society agrees. Basically that what a woman has to go through itsn't as important as what a man would have to go through. And thats just going back to male needs outweighing female ones. Its pretty simple. Not a value judgment but a statement. Societally, the onus of protection lay with us, and even the options given men aren't preferred. Its more our societies gender bias than anything else.
I'm on the pill so I'mna do what I do anyway. And I recognize what it does for my relationship, which is why I do it. But I also recognize whats going on. And my decision to accept this is because of how much I love my bf--not because its easier or expected of me.

i cant really argue with that to be honest. though i will say, if there was a male pill, or even a male injection. i would be the first to sign up, as i can see how it is unfair for it to be completly down to women these days. and just for my own protection, so i know i physically cannot inpregnate a girlbellybelle wrote:Depokene, one of the shots, usually has a higher dosage of hormones because it has to last longer so if a woman has trouble with a daily dosage of bc, she'll prolly fair worse on the shot, and its usually not recommended for women to start with the shot who haven't at first tried the pill, since once the hormones are injected, they have to ride it out. I wouldn't suggest any man getting a vascetomy until they are 100% ok with not being able to conceive again ever...That is not a procedure to be taken lightly...
Ladies and the pill - far more reasonable than vascectomy.
It is unfortunate that it is easier to control a females relatively singular ovulation than a hundred majillion enthusiastic sperm buggers.
..I detect a lightbulb joke brewing...

i wish there were a male pill. i thought they were working on something like that before but i'm not sure much ever came from it. but i know lots of guys who would definitely take the pill if one were offered. lol even if they were not in a steady relationship....the opportunity to not have to wear a condom and to not have to trust that a woman is being honest would be choice.
maybe there should be more research in keepin the lil soldiers down than the sergeant up. hehehehehe i mean i don't like condoms or migraines. but one has got to give.

so whats your take on it? Doesn't Sting practice it? There's that whole thing about men having orgasms without ejaculation with tantric sex practicing. I just wonder if anyone does it and can give a shout out about it or if its just another kinda catchy thing...kamala wrote:no man - so only tantric masturbation.

well, the idea behind tantric sex is that sex is not about physical pleasure, but rather energetic inter-connectivity and fluidity. it's a type of meditation really. so in that sense, reaching orgasm is completely not the goal. it's always nice tho
basically sex is one of the most powerful things someone can experience. it's powerful enough to create life itself. when you sex with someone you are energetically bonding with them (as well as bonding in many other ways) and it is believed not just in yogic spiritual circles but in quaballistic belief systems as well as others that sex is a conjoining of the male and female forces and therefore a perfect and necessary balance, so in tantric sex you use this connectivity to enhance both partners spiritual, emotional, and physical experiences.

yeah awesome. i mean, i've only done slight research into tantric sex or using sex magick because i'm pretty convinced that regular sex is nothing in comparison to sexual meditation. like, OBE experiences during orgasm. If you've ever had anything like that, its like the new goal. It can be awe inspiring. I need to do more research on it. I hate asking but any books or anything someone could link me to about it? I wanna do more research but I don't necessarily know where to look.....
And its not really the kinda thing you ask the clerk at Borders about hahaha
