Agreed...almost feel sorry for Spurs the way they lost out on CL football.

But then I remind myself that Harry Redknapp is a massive tnuc and the feeling subsides.
I would of thought you would have a special place in your heart for Redknapp after what he did to pompey...

Maybe he is, but Fergie and Wenger are bigger stnuc. Football is full of them, and in the sight of things, Redknapp's probably one of the lesser tnuc managers out there.

Yep. Going to be hard for us, now, which is half the problem, we're going to be back to the starting blocks. Very surprised if Bale stays with us, I'm already fully prepared for a Modric exit, and it looks like VDV'll probably take up that Germany offer now.

The interview he gave before the France match where they out & out asked him about leaving Spurs and he denied it, then went on to say he'd have taken the England job if it was offered...something clearly wasn't right at the time.

He got Saints relegated, then jumped ship to Pompey.

Well, it's pretty obvious really, Celtic is based in Glasgow and the Premiership is based in England, easier to make it to away games, easier for fans to make it to our ground.
It remains a Scottish club and as such should play in a Scottish league. Moving Celtic to one of the English divisions makes no sense and at the expense of what clubs or should whatever English division Celtic move to relegate a team due to play in it?

It's a nonsense and has been since the issue was first mooted. It's only really up for discussion now that Rangers look fucked.

I think Martinez could be a decent manager but I hate to think how this will play out in public. I'm a bit tired of Whelan to be honest.

Think Moyes gets a lot of credit without actually having won anything. Like 10 years at Everton and not even a League cup.

How many clubs outside the big boys have won anything in that time?

Am I the only Gooner that really likes 'Arry? Sad to see him go... even if they were creeping up behind us, it was great to see such a positive side breaking through. It'll actually be a bit disappointing if they don't hold onto their stars... the competition in North London has been brilliant again for the last couple of years.

Martinez and Moyes are both decent managers, but Redknapp really suited Spurs. I'd take Martinez over Moyes...

Portsmouth won the FA cup, Southampton Millwall WHU and Everton and Cardiff are amongst the runners up. Birmingham Boro and Blackburn Rovers have won the league cup Everton haven't made a final.

The top teams are stronger and I'm not suggesting Moyes has done a bad job I just don't know that it warrants the kind of praise he gets.

Based on their spending Everton deserve to get relegated every season but somehow they always seem to finish in the top 10, Moyes has to get most of the credit for that

Who isn't? Most professional sports are only a few marked bills short of a racket at the best of times.

That's not really true though, it has been more so lately but Fellani cost 15m Yakubu was 10m they spent on Jagielka, Howard, Neville. This idea that they havn't spent money forgets that they were spending before 2010.

I'm not saying he's a bad manager just that he hasn't done much to earn the kind of praise that he's gotten.

If celtic joined the Premiership they would get relegated after 1 season.

Just don't think they are up to the standard of the top half of the premier league plus the travelling to away games would be ridiculous, this might make Celtic Park a fortress though.

Maybe not one season but i think they would struggle

You need to remember that coming upto the premiership we would be getting more revenue from that and would therefore have a higher standard of players and with our fanbase I have no idea what would happen, we could end up in the top 10 with a number of seasons or we could end up relegated straight away, who knows.

As much as I'd like to join the premiership and compete at a much higher level every week, as has been said previously, it doesn't really make sense nor is it fair for us to worm our way into the premiership.

All fair points!

Fair play to celtic anyway, gonna absolutely boss the SPL for the foreseeable future now!

I highly doubt that Rangers won't get voted back into the SPL. If they do start from the third division, I will be worried about our Sky deal and it could make it even worse for hanging onto/signing players. Again, I have no idea what will happen to Celtic if Rangers are no longer in the SPL, a lot of people saying we will die too, but really can't say until it happens.

For the next few days I shall continue absolutely pissing myself :cornlol:

If te rangers are in third division the entire league will suffer.. Less competition will mean clubs won't be as driven to bring in new players. Celtic are the only club who could benefit from it

well that and the fact that everyone'll lose half their income. Scottish football is dead, has been since setanta went bust.

It's only an extra hour further than Newcastle, not really a big deal. They'd go down because the team is rubbish. The fact that Gary Hooper leads the line for them says a lot.
