@Annex: Awesome! Been banging this few times now and still sound great!
I really like those vocals they fit very well keep going really wanna hear this when ready :D

@LukeRaith: I like the beat, maybe turn those cymbals down a bit not much but thats just matter of taste i think...some variations to that arp would be nice...not the best but not the worst track :W:

@KoastEDM:
Wheres the sub? I think those mid-range sounds are too loud, hard to hear kick&snare and those sounds are a bit too thin, maybe because theres no sub/ the sub is too quiet compared to rest of the track...Idea is ok but really needs better mixing..

Heres mine, a trap kind of beat that im working on now, my friend said he will do some rapping over this so its just some sketch because we havent recorded any vocals yet so after that its easier to adjust the lengths of verses etc :D

@Alexandercunningham
I liked the vocals a lot. I think they blended well and fit the song, however, the got lost in the background ambiance. The drums were good and the percussion was sick. Keep it up!

@mthrfnk
It was well pictured, just a little generic. Some of the vocals got lost in the music, but that was fine because the rest of the track was good. Try to make the drums pop a bit more, otherwise it was fine.

@
it was nice and chill. Probably one of my favorites songs I heard to day. Call me crazy, but the synch part reminder me of Skream's Midnight Request Line!!

as for me, I have worked on this song for about seven hours. I was trying to make something unique. Thanks in advance for any feed back.

I updated mine, I had a version with vocals I guess I felt too unsure to post before but here it is.
Soundcloud

@dubstar999 The drums were cool but other than that I really really really disliked that murky bassline. Im not sure what else to say, its a very interesting beat.

@ kit-smithfs - your dynamics are all over the place. i had to adjust that my volume coming off of that first drop. mix with your volume turned down to eq everything evenly. the intro is nice but that drop is annoying, drowns out your drums, and doesn't sound clean nor is the melody nice to listen to. its nice to hear something a little different but it sounds rough. add some white noise to that snare too.

@ratcub- nice man. big thing is maybe switching up your drums and cleaning up the mix a bit. turn down that reese a tiny bit. other than that, like those dynamics.

@ koast-nice tune but its a little empty. fill it up with shit to get your box full. heh.

@ratcub. some of the hats at the beginning are really harsh on the ear. try notching out some of the upper mids on them to make them less fatiguing. I like the main reese and the melody. Although some the pads sound a bit too cheesey for this particular track. I also think the snare lacks punch. It seems like it's a bit top heavy and this track could probably use a bit beefier one.

@MaZa1: The drums in the beginning need more variation in sound. You go from one sound to the next when you should be alternating them to make them sound more alive. your kick doesnt sustain very long at all so it doesn't sound like you have a sub. All in all I think this would work as an intro to a song but it needs something bigger and heavier to go with it.

@Koast edm:Those high sound over power pretty much everyting else. You can barely hear the drums or the bass over them. From what I can hear the drum part is pretty good; I just can't hear it. The kick and the snare are nice. Also these sounds are pretty rough and need a good deal of EQ-lovin' and a lot of them just sound sort of randomly selected as opposed to have a nice flow from one sound to the next.

I'll comment on some more later (sorry to those I've missed for now) but I have to run.

Anyways here's my latest. Started it last night. it's dubstep-ish .Still needs a bit of work but I'd love to get some feedback. thanks in advance.

Cmgoodman – really like this style, the sub hits nice and smooth. Interesting vocal samples. One area for improvement might be in some drum pattern variations to switch things up every few bars. Maybe like a drum fill with a new percussion sample to give each group of 2 or 4 bars a finishing touch. The reverse crash is nice but a little more attention there would be nice. Good song though

Crow steppa – like the synth selection and melodies a lot. Not sure about the snare though. I think a clap type snare would sound better than a 909 type snare in the introduction at least. Might just be my personal opinion. Also to be honest I like the song way more before the drop, the bass riffs are a little too harsh for the vibe I was getting from the intro. If you could low pass the bass and make it more liquid style I think it could be cool

Rat cub – first thing I noticed is the percussion palette is nice but the patterns seems to lack the life that a proper groove needs. I think the hats need more velocity differences and maybe drag them off the grid a bit. Add some more life to the drums basically. Melody and soundscape are nice though. Give that bass a little more attitude maybe by programming changes in the bass filters cutoff and resonance too. Good start

Here’s mine, definitely not dubstep but just messing around with some neon indian vibes…

@MaZa1 Liking that 808. The snare has a really nice top end. Add some punch behind it. Thats really all I can say. Sick beat.

@Ratcub Damn son haha. Nice. Turn down the big Reese a little. Your hats are a little loud IMO. Really like this style.

@cmgoodman1226 You always impress. Love the vibes of this song. I cant pick out anything wrong with it.

Remix Im working on. Its pretty much done. Just looking for criticism on the mix. I always have a hard time with my mix

GuardianGate - Youve got some really cool stuff going on here! Overall everything about it stands out very well and the structure is really solid. If your looking for feedback mix wise - the kick and the snare sound a little quite especially since drums are usually very prominent. It was hard to even notice the shaker/hats unless i really listened closely (careful with these though as they should be very subtle in a song like this). Other than that i would say you could probably bring the volume up on the piano keys (probably not chords though) and i think that will add a lot to the melody of the song and make it sound very full. There were a couple places where the vocal raised in pitch and imo it didnt fit the song very well (or at least that certain part of the song) you could also raise the volume of your vocals a little bit or maybe eq so they stand out just a little bit more. Im just nitpicking though because overall its a really nice piece with some really cool ideas. - But would it kill you to give some more feedback than that? In one of your sections you didnt even give any feedback at all.

mtl6 - Wow really like this melody youve got going on! very laidback almost sounds kinda like a progressive video game or something. However i do not like the kick that you are using at all. It sound so incredibly bland and it really just sounds more like a click than a drum. Your snare sounded really good but you also had some congas or something around 1:00 and they sounded pretty dry. You could probably doing something to make those stand out a bit more and really add to the progression of the track. at 1:10 you introduce a new sound and it sounds really static-y it kinda drowns out the super upbeat sounds everything else give off. You could possibly try using that same pattern as some sort of bass? But again some really cool stuff overall!

cmgoodman1226 - at the intro and the breakdown in between the kicks you have some sort of hat or something and it sound really really click-y. Like i straight cant stand how click-y it sounds. I think youd be much better off using some other drum element here. But once the bass drops man thats some good stuff. Super laid back but its still got that wobble :6: the hats also just kick ass - seriously some nice sounding hats. I think if you wanted to add even more power to that wobble you might be able to add some sorta saw wave over top of it but thats if you were wanting even more. Because so far its coming along pretty well.

Alright heres some complextro ive been working on here lately. Im really interested to see what you guys have to say about it overall (mix wise, layout and structure, etc.) And please go crazy! Dont just leave me just a few words of feedback

@Ratclub - Drums sound good with the mix, maybe add a little more variation with the them. Personally, I do not like the vibe of the track, the section where the reese comes in is dope, some nice arrangement with it going on. Contrary to that, I do feel the song as a whole needs better arrangement to make it more interesting, but overall goodwork!

@Crowsteppa - Feelin' this right from the start, cool synths and nice melody, especially when the sub comes in. I do not mind the drop but do feel it could be better somehow, maybe make it more melodic by emulating the melody prior to it with some interesting arrangement. Had such an awesome vibe the whole song, kinda threw me off.

@cmgoodman1226 - I really like this. Mix down sounds real clean, the sampling and sound design is awesome, gives it such an awesome vibe. Also, I really enjoy the hi hat panning and that sub movement/reese really makes the track. You got some skills man keep up the work.

@mtl6 - Diggin' your style, really chill track. Congo fill's sound fine, mixed down as a whole sounds really solid to me. Love the melody around 1:40-2:03. Checked out your SC and listened to that song Koto, some powerful stuff man love what your doing keep making music.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -- - -- - -- - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - -

How do I prevent my hi hats from clipping/distorting when I upload to soundcloud? Sounds completely fine before I upload, feel like I tried everything last night to fix it.

Also, just need some criticism on the intro [don't know how I feel about it] and any mixing tips for my drums because I'm struggling with that.

MaZa1 - The synths sound like a horror movie, I like it. Seems to keep building up and needs something super heavy to drop in.

RATCUB - I really like the vocal bits. And the reese. I'm not huge on the gated trancey sound but it works well with everything else.

Crow Steppa - Snare could use a little bit more in the higher end of the eq. Sounds almost like a tom right now. The drop almost sounds like it should be for the second half of the song with how aggressive it feels. I really like the synths in the intro part

cmgoodman1226 - Sounding super smooth. Vocal bits sound good. Bass has a really nice clean but thick sound. Really feeling this. Maybe turn up the hats a bit and send me a wav when it's done?

mtl6 - Your sounds all fit together nicely but I really don't like that main beep over the whole thing.

GuardianGate - Mix sounds good. Bass modulation sounds pretty on point. I don't really like the vocals all that much but it probably wouldn't be a remix without them.

Stargazer - Some of the chopped bass parts need to be turned down. And maybe try sidechaining everything to the kick to get a little bit more pumping and cut through on it. Other then that it's sounding good.

sjscar - Synth in the intro feels a bit off from the rest of the track. As far as getting your drums to pop, try turning the whole mix down so you can set your gains with the hats louder in the mix. Selective EQing, compression (don't over do it!), and reverb can work wonders on drums.

New bit that I've been hacking away at. Still needs some work I think. On a more aggressive tip but still trying to keep deep vibes.

dial_back nice beat, love the intro actually, the main bass on the drop sounds way too out of tune and muddy though, would recommend trying something else imo.

sjscar love this tune man, intro is perfect imo. can't think of any criticism apart from maybe clean up that rolling hi-hat, doesn't sound crisp enough for the style of the tune, for this you could either go back and change the sample, layer it, or simply cut down the release of the transient and see if that helps :)

GuardianGate nice tune, if a bit generic. the side-chained trance type synth is a bit loud, and might sound a bit crisper and nicer if you layered it with a saw bass for some low mids (would sound a bit gemini-ish). Other than that, its a good mixdown for this style i think. Could maybe do with some more interesting highs on the drums?

cmgoodman1226 this is my kind of shit haha! fucking love this man, earnt yourself a follower. love that bassy clicking sound in the beat of the intro :P can't think of any criticism, i love it as it is. vibes.

Crow Steppa not sure minecraft dubstep has a place in todays world but what the heck if its your sound champion it! :P yeah the sub sounds as if its out of key, the ring modulation on the intro synth is a bit too obvious, and apart from that the beat doesn't really fit the style of the tune. oh shit just got to the drop :L those mids sound way too distorted and not loud enough, i think its just the original patch wasn't right. sorry for being a little harsh, its how i would want my tune criticized :P

This is my new tune, made it in a couple of hours which is a really quick turnaround for me, probably the quickest i've ever written something. Its pretty weird (really weird), i was feeling inspired by blawan and burial at the time, but i really like it, give me some criticisms! Soundcloud
Anyone got advice on where to promote this kinda stuff btw? I used to get like 1000 plays on every tune but now I'm making more personal, deeper stuff, i only get like 100 plays if i'm lucky :P

RATCUB - intro sounds large, man. that reesy mid sounds a bit too harsh though, kinda robs your tune's space. i would cut out some frequencies to let the track breathe a little more. sub line is killer. enjoyed the different aspects you introduced as the track progresses.

cmgoodman1226 - laidback vibe, I dig it. vocals are awesome and fit the tune very well. mix down sounds just right, might be a tad heavy on the low end, but it works. my only suggestion would be... develop that piano you bring in around 36s! the whole tune could use a liiiittle more progression. however, that's more of a personal opinion than criticism.

mtl6 - awesome! such a happy tune, man! that 80s drum fill is so sick haha!! i really wish this tune had a full vocal track. my only suggestion would be to add some character to your percussion and add a bass line.

sjscar - i don't what you're talking about, man, that intro sounds killer. i would maybe cut the pad out slightly once the vocals start coming in so the listener can appreciate the character a little more. i'm loving the movment in the sub. bass line meshes very well with the kick.

anyways, here's a new tune i've been working on. i would really like to add some variation to it but everything i've tried didn't work out too well. feedback would be awesome. thanks homies!

@dougriley: REALLY like your tune mang!! sounding fresh! those reverse snares and growls make it! really hard pressed to find any issues with it.. keep it up!
good little break section too! what did you make your bass mids on?
around 1:45, that little plucky sound you have going is really nice too! the whole track (the one in your sig) is fucking dope.

@earjax: really dig the instant action here!! sounds great going straight into it! personally id dial back that main synthy melody, it kinda stands out heaps hard, i really dig though, the groove is immaculate!!
that drop just after 1 min is REALLY burial-esque! you did a great job drawing inspiration from him! ;)

THIS is a tune ive been working on atm, got a few other dubby ones in the works too! but this is looking the most promising.. its pretty bare atm but i wanna get each part perfect before i/we (im making it with a friend who's yet to add anything) move on to add more..

@cmgoodman1226 Duuuude, thats some good shit. Just right. I'm not going to pretend to know what I'm talking about when it comes to production but I think you could bring the hats up a bit. It does seem to be really low end heavy. Good job though, earned a new follower.

@dougriley I really like the vocal samples and growls. Add a bit more variation and I'd totally buy that track. Good work. :)

I feel a bit out of place posting something like this but this is the track me and a friend have been working on. The mixdown could use some work for sure.

@Clutchkick That's so sick man... that sub at the beginning is nice and your wobbles are spot on. If anything I'd say just add a bit more variation in the wobbles.

@GuardianGate Your remix is solid. sometimes the vocals are set back just a LITTLE BIT. Maybe fine tune the EQ a little bit, change some levels by a tenth of a db or two, but other than that I love it, nice arrangement.

@cmgoodman1226 The vibe of that track is awesome... I'm digging it man, keep up the good work!

Here's my WIP... just started it a few hours ago so the mix is super rough... I'm just looking for feedback on the style/arrangement I'm fairly new to working with hard drops and what not, but I went for it. Tell me what you think. Also, the title is just there because I thought it sounded a tad bit like something excision would do :3 Soundcloud

sjscar, that was very pleasant :D It does sound somewhat stereotypical (not that that's really a problem. If you don't like it, I suggest using a few non-standard techniques)

dougriley and clutchkick: very impressive. These are very well-produced. Can I has pls‽

dial_back: interesting song. I'm not sure if this was intentional or if I'm just not interpreting it the same way as you, but the melodic disagreement between various components is too great. Make the instruments play notes that are compatible with one another's. That aside, I like it quite a bit.

mtl6: You need to make money off of this song's implementation in a video game. This is seriously a good song. I enjoy it thoroughly!

Filthor- Im not listening on headphones so i can't comment too much on the technical aspects, so ill just deal with the creative side of things. My main issue is the sounds are all nice, clear sounding etc, but they feel too much like just a collection of sounds rather than a coherent melody. the track to me's lacking a standout element that gives it character and defines the tune. It all just feels a bit too robotic and lifeless for me. The sounds are tight and everything but work on the melody more.

Clutchkick- This is a fucking choon mate, very badklaat/bassclash sounding. just work on making the tune sound a bit bigger to fill up the spectrum more and you're there!. The riffs good and the sounds alternate in a way that compliments the rhythm well. biggups!

Dougriley- Sounding sick so far mate, gonna be a choon when its done! maybe just flesh the tune out a bit more by adding a pad or something to fill the top end out more and create some more atmosphere for the bassline to sit in.

heres my ting, not dubstep, its on a my nu leng/ taiki and nulight garage/house vibe

Cheeky – love the vibe of this first off. Not really feeling the out of key sounding bassline mixed with the vocals but after the drop it’s awesome. Maybe there’s a different melody you could play for the bass before the drop. Very fuckin cool though I like this track a lot. Good work.

Clutchkick- huge tune. Groovy as fuck. Digging it a lot. Only thing I can think of is add more of those trappy 808 snare rolls more! Those are awesome. Great tune man I’m feeling the head nodding vibes with this one

Dougriley – Very nice sound design and melody. I would like the little plucky arp melody played a little louder, but that’s just me. Maybe try playing the drums in double time if you’re looking for more variation? It could sound cool I think…

Here’s the first electro house/hardwell-type song I’ve ever made. Please be brutally honest with it. Thanks…

Cheeky Hilarious— I thoroughly enjoy it! I haven't spoken to you in a while. How've you been, bud?

lightshapers I will leave feedback later …maybe— if I get around to it and you've added feedback for other people if/when I do.

mtl6 Sexy. Not enough low-mid, though, for my taste. I suggest adding something nice, harmonic, and strong to fill the lower mid area and keep it relatively low in volume. I think that'd make it sound a bit better. Good job, though, buddy :)
