dubstep & drugs?
class As don't lower the tone. wankers lower the tone. and there's nothing much worse than an uninhibited wanker. tbh tho i'd far rather deal with a pillhead than a pisshead. at least you can just push a pillhead over and generally they'll stay where they land.owengriffiths wrote:Only been to a few dubstep nights so can't really comment on drugs in them, apart from the fact that Plastic People has little enough toilet cubicles as it is, I dont want to be fucking waiting 5-10 minutes for a piss cos of cokeheads labourisly chopping up lines.
I've took E's in Techno nights, and I have to say that Class A's lower the tone of a club something shocking. even while I've stood there chewing my beak off I've thought to myself, this isn't quite right. cos people wiped out are a fucking disgrace most of the time, goldfish memory span, pupils so big they look like they're shit scared, and people barely able to communicate (let alone piss!).
When I hear about people saying how pills changed their life in the late 80's/ early 90's I laugh. even factoring in the amount of shit they put in modern pills, I find it very hard to believe that the original rave scene was much less seedier than people wiped out today. They have little self-control, they don't dance (you thought Grime was bad!), and just talking to them is sinister.
The good thing about alcohol is that most people know when to stop. With E's you're just getting loads of people asking "do you know anyone who sells pills?", even though they've already took 7.

Not really, k generally seems to rob music of the high and low frequencies and just makes the sound seem really compressed.decklyn wrote:dubstep=K
Little sniffs are alright, but I hardly know anyone into k that does little sniffs. At least you don't have to spend too long trying to track them down, they're usually where you left them

I think a bit of anything doesn't do too much harm. And mostly pill-heads aren't too much bother. If I can have a little something to keep me awake then I usually will, but days of going out and doing six pills are long gone.
Can remember getting a New Yorker back in 93 as an introduction to pills, and they certainly don't make them like that anymore.
Hmm....

"Back in the day" I'd be giving out yards about pissheads in clubs, getting aggro with the ravers mad out of it on yokes, wrecking the buzz. Now I'm older I drink all the time and take the piss out of people gurning the face off themselves. Even if I end up having a yoke or three it just seems to keep me awake all night rather than fill me full of PLUR-style feelings (and if you know what that is too then you're definitely showing your age), so the drinking can go on all night until the early house opens.
This isnt just me. Noticed it among my friends too. We're all hitting the 30 mark and definitely drinking a lot more than in early 20's. Not sure what that says - we all have more money cos we're working full time and cant be bothered going through the rigmorole of getting yokes, trips or powder, or we know we're all starting to hit a more serious phase in our lives with shit like gafs, kids, marriage etc and we need to drink more to wash away the feelings that life is a load of bollocks in front of us.
Dubstep, techno, garage - whatever night I'm at I can just have one or two beers and have a great time, or go the whole hog and grab whatever's going. Powder doesnt agree with me though, dont like the sensation of it up the nostril, or the buzz of it. I presume someone's made the point that it turns people into demented loons by the end of the evening - motion passed, in total agreement with that for sure. I dont mind people fucked up though as long as they're not out for fights.

In his autobiography he mentions doing quite a lot of crack in Barbados recording the last album, so it's not all MDMA. He's still slightly more coherent than Shaun Ryder who sounds like Ozzy and looks like melted lard.

I had this French guy, with big plaits in his hair, chris i think, interview me about dubstep, which led to questions about dubsteps relation to ketamine, and why the drug is popular in the scene? Haha, i was pretty speechless at 6 in the morning, its just music, raves&drugs y'know, in England thats what goes down, some poeple do some people dont,
Pretty interesting they were making a dubstep documentary for current tv, they gave me a card for 'outtherefilms' i checked the website and it was all fishing documentaries?!?! haha, anyone else meet these two guys? or know any more info about this doc? i've been pretty intrigued about it since...
