JBE wrote:@Bradicle: Thanks man. Yea, I had actually completely muted out that metal clank sound but I must have unmuted it on accident when I rendered this copy and I didn't listen to it before uploading.

BTW, tune in your sig is pretty good stuff. It could definitely use some varying of the bass sound more though. That's kind of the annoying thing about that particular style is it almost requires like 30 different bass sounds.

@Mindcontrol: Glad you liked it. That's definitely where I was going with it. Listening to a lot of that "old school" dubstep where it still was so full of the garage/jungle influence.

The track that you posted Definitely needs some work. I know it's not done or anything but The bass just seems like a bit much for what you have going on. Also, you called it drumstep but it really lacks that energy. Drumstep is basically DnB with half time drums but even at the faster speed half-time is still pretty fast which is what gives it a lot of that big energy like DnB.

@Jaspervc: Big stuff dude. Could use a bit of variation on the bass though. I think somewhere right in the middle you should throw in a break of some sort. About 8-16 bars of a nice big break with a new bassline pattern. Maybe switch it up to a 4/4 beat during the break just to kind of give it a bit of energy going into the next part.

Just to throw out a quick update. Don't mean to double post so if it's an issue I'll remove this. After Bradicle mentioned the "clang" I went back in to remove and ended up coming up with a couple ideas. I added a little string patch every 8 bars in a few places. I also removed the higher pitched wobble/horn type sound I used on the second part and replaced with a knock type bass patch. I think it flows better with the track this way.

Once I have this thing finished it will be up on SC for free download. If you want a copy just pm me and I'll put you on my list and send you a message when I make it available to download. I don't know exactly when that will be as I could end up sitting on this thing for a couple more days or a couple more weeks depending on how much creativity I can muster up.

@JBE
Really like it,would like to hear it with the strings patch and all, only thing is I think it would be better if the sub would not kick in right at the beginning, maybe when the other sounds come in at 30 sec?!
anyways put me on your list and if you could feedback mine :)

@ JBE - Cheers for the feedback man, have sorted that synth out and added some sub. Listening to yours now, nice sub on that, drop is nice. Liking the broken beat, proper trippy. 2nd drop sounds like some mad grime thing. Biggup!

@ Lordbid - Cheers mate, your track says unavailable at the moment?

@ Dan-wimperis - Thanking you! Love the synth in kiss kiss. Proper spacey tune, drop is insane. Love the floaty bits in the beginning. In comes the cymbals, nice and punchy kicks. Great job mate!

@ Mortal - Thanks! Loving the low reverse snares on your intro, kick could do with bringing down a tad, also the wobbly glitch noise. Sounds hectic! Big tune!

@ Bradicle - Cheers mate. Intro on your tune is fuckin nasty, so is the wobble. Is it me or doesnt the tune have a sub? Nice deep rumbling sub will bring this tune onto top level. Massive!

@ Colourless - Cheers mate, one of my favourite tracks The Calling. Working on a VIP at the moment and have sorted the drums and change the synths round. Sound heavy! Will post it up when its nearly done!

Thanks to all that has listened

Just finished updating this, minus the annoying synth and better vocals / sub.

@tripwire. Sounding real nice man. Nice vibe to it. That little pan sounds mint, changes it up a bit. Rain atmosphere bit sounds nice throughout the track. Bass too!

Define "Big". I mean for what it is, for the style that it is, or at least my interpretation of it is sounding pretty good. Maybe what you need is a bigger melody sound. Or bigger sub possibly. I think for the laid back chilled out tune that it is I think it would hurt it if you tried to go too heavy on stuff. I would say just try some more up front lead sounds or some sort of additional melody utilizing a bigger sound.

Just like the first 50 seconds of a new idea i just started, some feeback would be wicked, need to put some bass/sub bass in still, but only been on it like an hour, any feedback would be wicked :)

@tripewire: Loving that tune so far, but as someone said maybe the melody needs to come out a little? Great track otherwise.

@gombles: That piano intro sounds a little "harsh" if you know what I mean, maybe stick some reverb on the piano to take the edge off it and make it more chilled, if you're going for an ambient feel...nice so far though. Snare sounds a little thin but then mine often do.

40 minutes work today, needs all manner of work doing on it but I like it so far.

That snare in your songs sounds thin too,but for a 40 mins work it sound really good! Work up that intro a bit more and some nice transitions and you got something there!

Its 5am and i rustled up a tune, quite housey, rather rushed.
drum are nice the whole way through, i'd say you could do with thickening it up after the "drop"

first stab at an experimental tune, thought i'd try something original, the wobble stuff is becoming a little stagnant now.

been producing for a year, my mastering is still awful as you'll hear.

@The Peak - Wish more people would try different styles. I really enjoyed your tune. Chilled out.

Thanks everyone for previous feedback on my track. Reworked it just a bit.

Jbe - when the chords first start, I got the feeling like they sounded off pitch, but as the song went on it flowed better, the subtle sounds at 40 seconds were pretty cool too. Good stuff.

Hakka - This track is currently unavailable, so I'll do it later.

Bradicle - That's pretty filty bro.And I'm a sucker for the sub bass drop at 1:07. I felt like, although the drums fit together, the snare on the 3 was sticking out too much too me throughout the entire song.

Trip - I've listened to this probably like 4 or 5 times. I like it a lot. I don't really feel like there needs to be anything "big" but maybe you could add something else if you really wanted to.

Gombles - I agree the piano part might be a little rough, but I love the pads in the back, and the rattling drums

Jaydot - If you listen closely, the kick & the snare sound pretty similar. Not necessarily in a bad way but maybe make them more defined? It's kind of like a no bullshit song. Just bam in you're face, no going around it.

The Peak - You've got some nice atmosphere going on there. Sounds like you're constantly sweeping a filter from beginning to end, I dig.

KingNoble - I like how you introduced a mixture of "sounds" in that. A little guitar, a little bongos, a little horns action, some vocals, and some fucking wobbles. Like that.

Added melody on intro. Made intro a bit longer. Little bit more tweaking things.

Hit me up :)

@Jaydot : thats pretty evil, the sirens dominate abit too much, and for the rest i agree with Major Zero on your soundcloud page

@bradicle: nice start, bass is there now you need some stuff to fill up the empty freq's, add some melody and you're done?

@baaan: tight stuff man, loving the ambient feel to it, i feel like you could do abit more with the drums, maybe just totally step away from the dubstep pattern? just ideas

@KingNoble: intro was so promising, but your wobbles didn't quite flow with the rest of your tune. Shame cause your intro is damn wtf awesome

My first drumstep attempt, maybe i'll just rework it into dubstep , not sure yet

I like that how it is, nice production. And re: my tune, I've worked on it some more and it's near the final version which I'm gonna post in "finished tracks".
