i wonder how many people actually fell for the whole "jesus is a rebel", "jesus is cool" christianity campaign? and for that matter, what ever happened to jars of clay? talk about a one hit wonder...

im not too down with christian music. its like eating butterball turkey with miracle whip on wonder bread. and washing it down with a glass of powdered milk.

no thanks :D

What, you're saying that christian music and art is contorted to fit with publicity campaigns dictated by the assumed authority of moneyhungry preachers? Nah, say it ain't so.

Historically, it makes sense though. Christianity spread throughout europe and the world by mimicking and adopting local culture to lure ppl in (hence christmas, easter, churches and such stuff). "See, you can still do your thing, you may still give us all your money and firstborn. It's cool."

What I can't stand is the persecution/opression card. It's the ultimate hypocrisy, especially around these parts of the world. *ick*

But christian hip hop makes me giggle. I just wanna give'em a good squeeze and a noogie.

good post.

you ever read about the 3 hares symbol?

its a carving of 3 hares, in a circle, all joined by the same 2 ears.

archiologists have found the symbol in centuries old catholic churches, buddihst monestries, and muslim mosques.

very interesting when you think what the three hares could represent, and the fact that they all share the same ears...

like the theory in south park that St Peter was a bunny rabbit and the rightful heir to the papacy should always be a rabbit?
