Yeah, it's a pain in the arse. But as I live in a loft conversion I live in a room essentially the size of 4 other peoples rooms an extra floor up. Can cut myself off and play records, drink and watch movies all night on the nights I end up staying at home with no interference.

Trippy. I loathe that word.

"Oh man, this pie is so trippy. It's got rhubarb and shit in. I mean, WHAT THE FUCK?!?"

"Woah, that vid is so trippy. Is that.. more than one colour used?!?"

"Your plumbing is trippy mate, it makes noise"

"Jesus is so trippy..."

"Woah. Did you just bend that spoon with your hand? Trippy."
"...we now pause to test the soul of the Steppenwolf"

more phrases, really, but the following strike me as incomplete thoughts, and rather nonsensical when really considered:

"thank you"

"please"

"you're welcome"

"i'm sorry"

all staples in politeness, but lacking in sincerity entirely as such pavlovian responses are entirely reflexory in their use.

also phrases, hated moreso for their grammatical laziness:

"for god sakes" (for god's sake)

"i could care less" (i couldn't care less)

hated exclusively when used by americans, notorious in the us dnb culture, and a bit in dubstep:

"seen"

"big up"

"massive"

"boh"

"respec"

any use of the word "literally" where something is being said figuratively.

"i don't know", when used to explain one's actions.

"whatever" as a response and "or whatever" following any statement.

It always confused me when people said this. Took me a while to figure out they didn't actually mean they could care less, just they were stupid.

Haha, my mate says this, for no reason apparently.
"shit man I was just tripping innit"
The one time I asked her for a definition she couldn't give me one, I guess its what most people call thinking

Strange mystery... Northern slang of 'Can't be arsed'

Southern uni student hijack version: 'Can't be asked'

Thats the most sense i've heard in ages!

Never could get my head round the "could care less" expression.

Any of you ever read A Million Little Pieces by James Frey? The fact he uses that expression constantly throughout was the only thing I didn't like about the book. Always fucked up the flow. And if you haven't read it, and you take drugs (and/or like a good read) I highly recommend it

Epic and Fail when used in real life, nearly as bad as random. What's worse is that i now feel stupid when i say 'epic' in a perfectly legitimate way, describing a particular film (Gladiator or Saving Private Ryan) or music with an amazing string arrangement.
