I hope you're being sarcastic when you say "dub" instead of dubstep as well.

If not, kill yourself thrice.

Nah, already thought about it, came to the conclusion that it would be better if BassWobble_STL went back to jump up DnB instead of killing himself.

Point being you listen to a good portion of wack music.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and I'm from GA, being from the USA is no excuse.
hahaha oh so youre from georiga huh? well that explains a lot... you make no sense man. we were talking specifically about the ST. LOUIS MISSOURI scene.

please tell me what the fuck that has to do with DMZ?

hahahahha jump up DNB? right. thats what i listen to.... cause i dont work for 2 of the bigger promotions companies in the midwest comprised of DJ's covering every aspect of dubstep from glitch-hop to dub (reggae kind of dub) to breaks to things that dont even have specific categories. yea, all i listen to is bullshit music and jump ups. you caught me...

Oh that? That's just trolling.

My point being that so far you've booked a bunch of big names who make bland jump-up. That scene's been ruined from the start if that's all you've booked.

hahaha thats been just the bigger ones in the last couple of months man.

(anyone feel free to chip in on this) but EOTO, Two Fresh, Vibe Squad, and Smilodon and Toffler are not really jump-up DJ's at all and all have their own creative spin on electronic music. and those are only the bigger names. bigger name= more people know them= more money. from a business standpoint, you cant always book the person you who produces your favorite specific kind of music. im sorry if you dont like jump-ups, im not a huge fan either, but i can enjoy a good dubstep show no matter what the style. is there some dj's id rather see then others? yea, obviously.

but you also have neglected the fact that we also have a lot of local Dj's that are actually starting to make names for themselves. for instance, Spankalicious, who is one of our good friends and from the st. louis area, just opened for bass nectar in colorado. and his style is pretty much the opposite of generic dnb jump-up. (bass nectar is main stream blah blah blah, point is there were a lot of people there that saw him and it was a big step in making a name for himself outside of small shows and local scenes)

so say what you will and think what you want, but its people like you who spread hate for no reason that will be, and always have been, the downfall communities like dubstep. you views ont this subject are flawed and you have no idea what youre talking about as far as what goes on here and what we do. so next time you feel like spitting out a few lines of ignorant bullshit, just keep it to yourself and save it for a fanboy who ALL they listen to is caspa, rusko, and bass nectar.

I agreed with you until this part.

People who came into the scene after hearing Fabriclive 37 and bitched me out for playing Loefah because "I WANT SOME HEAVY DUBSTEP, MAAAAN" were the downfall of dubstep. :t:

EOTO's always sounded a bit garbage to me anyway.

well yea, i mean, theres always going to be some people out there who just want the hard hitting or (as those kind of people would say) "filthy" dubstep, and they can be quite annoying for sure.

and man, i dont know how you think EOTO is garbage, their shows have probably been my favorites out of any. not just for the music, but for the whole feel of the show, the people that come, and the vibes they produce with their music. it almost seems like only people who know whats up go to EOTO shows becuase they really arent heavy or super well known through 1 track that everyone knows or anything, they produce live dubstep on the spot with live drums and live singing. to me that alone is something to be seen and defnitely a rare thing in the world of dubstep.

the biggest problem i have with EOTO and Bassnectar is the machine-like procession of their tours and music production. you can count on the same thing at every single EOTO show. and Bassnectar's formula is pretty simple. glitchy vocal, maybe a rock sample here and there, the signature Bassnectar bass and lots of drugs. both of them have made their in with the jam community, which has been one of the largest embracers of dubstep in the US, and they can count on big crowds with a lot of jammers at every stop they make. EOTO guys used to make instrumental jam with String Cheese. Bassnectar was still an underground experimentalist until he discovered the magic of phat bass. neither of them bother to push boundaries, IMO, because they've got it made.
it's easy to be successful with trendy, jammy wobble. it's not so easy to earn respect among people looking for the next level.
ask kids at those shows who their favorite producers are and it will speak for itself.

just my two cents' worth as a midwest dubstep fan.

sidenote: commercialism ends up ruining every genre of music.
be confident in what you like, seek it out, and remain content with your little secret.
i like it better that way.

Not really, dub and dubstep are 2 completely different things. King Tubby, Harry J

Sorry im a bit of a pedant reggae fan.
-q-

i mean, i know if you want to be specific they are 2 different things, but i think it was easy to understand what i meant through the context of what i was saying. i am, as well, a big reggae fan but you are from the UK and i am from the US and we just have different terminology. if you said dub around where i am, people would automatically think dubstep. and it wasnt like i was saying "dub is so cool!" or some other open ended statement, i gave specific examples of dubSTEP artists. should not have been that hard to understand, at least i didnt mean for it to be. sorry if you got confused.
sorry dude, but no.
i think you would find that there is still a larger population of dub fans than dubstep fans in the US. a bit offensive to both sides. i don't know anyone who considers these interchangeable, and declaring that we just have different "terminology" for very distinctive WORLDWIDE music genres isn't true.

Good memory of St Louis on a Sunday night
only one place open, a cafe with barge workers and waitresses,
dancing, getting drunk and frisky... nice people.
Wouldn't mind still being there to defend against the uncouth hordes,
threatening the dubstep edifice.
Pour boiling oil on em I would,
or poxy cows.
