Keep it trill DSF. You don't need a reason to hate Palin, just don't use this ladies unfortunate situation to try and blindly turn this about guns and palin when gifford took part in shit like that

Yeah she was actually pro-guns. Strange this happened to her of all people because apparently she was a much more moderate liberal

Regardless there's little doubt in my mind that the fear-mongering from the right media contributed to this. Will this change anything? Sadly, probably not.

I think it had more to do with the guy being certifiable, but that's just me.

just to give people an idea of how crazy the American right is:

"I'm thinking about killing Michael Moore, and I'm wondering if I could kill him myself, or if I would need to hire somebody to do it. No, I think I could. I think he could be looking me in the eye, you know, and I could just be choking the life out." -- Glenn Beck, May 17, 2005

You really just don't see that kind of shit coming from the other side. Sure, Rachel Maddow and Olbermann give the Republicans quite some shit, but it's with good reason, and you never fucking hear shit like that.

Also http://obamalondon.blogspot.com/2011/01 ... alins.html

Sarah Palin's moderators almost instantly delete even remotely critical remarks towards her, but leave this:

"It's ok. Christina Taylor Green was probably going to end up a left wing bleeding heart liberal anyway. Hey, as 'they' say, what would you do if you had the chance to kill Hitler as a kid? Exactly."

That's because MSNBC's viewership is somewhat above the O channel yet below the kittens in sweaters channel. Their parent company would shut them down if they said stupid shit.... the fact that fox news says stupid shit brings them their viewers.

Ultimately this comes down to a derranged dude doing deranged things. If it wasn't a democrat it would have been a republican... if it wasnt a 9 year old it would have been a 10 year old getting shot. If it wasnt john lennon it'd have been bob dylan. Crazy doesn't have rhyme or reason and it's why it is called crazy.

I agree, but you actually NEVER hear shit like that coming from the left, and you hear it surprisingly often from the right. there really is quite an obvious disparity.

Has anybody already said if more people had more guns he wouldn't have gotten through half as many without being shot himself?

is that a sarcastic remark?

whether or not it was one, the guy was tackled almost as soon as possible by two bystanders. even just a few seconds are enough to kill a handful of people with a gun, compared to a knife for example. Guns give way to a far more lethal, longrange, and faster method of killing people :(

it's so ridiculous because most of the stuff that nutter was ranting about is exactly the type of stuff you hear on Fox news

The extreme rhetoric that comes out of american polititians/pundits mouths is quite frightening. I imagine some people are easily influenced by such inciteful commentary.
