KLAXONS 'Not over yet' SKREAMIX
I think it's awful - there's NO way I wold stay on the floor if anyone dropped this - zeitgeist or not - I don't want to hear this kind of thing in dubstep. I don't like vocals in most genres. Fair play to Skream for giving it a crack - but it's not my cup of tea (or should that be can of stella) at all.
Maybe it's an age thing - I guess a lot of the young dubstep fans like other stuff which is very now. I think modern pop music is appalling and 99% of the rock/indie bands of today are bobbins. It's all about the reference points and most of the bands nowadays were influenced by the likes of Oasis. If that's not an oxymoron then I don't know what is.
Appologies for not getting with the program.

like the remix but not the klaxons or the original?
like the original but not the klaxtons but like the skream remix?
like the skream remix, like the orignal and the klaxons?
Its a tricky one mate, whilst I hate all this mainstream indie/nu rave shit including the Klaxons I'm beginning to understand how massive it is with the "Kids".D-Nile wrote:I think it's awful - there's NO way I wold stay on the floor if anyone dropped this - zeitgeist or not - I don't want to hear this kind of thing in dubstep. I hate the (Klaxons) original of this but respect what Skreams done with it, if it comes out as the B-side of something that would give dubstep more exposure, which is good no?
Dubstep's developing very rapidly and Its bound to have its mainstream moments but as long as the temptation of a quick few quid doesnt lure too many to the attempt to crack the top 10 then a few one off's for promotional purposes wont hurt. Remember what Mr C from The Shaman did, took all his money underground!
Who wants the Steppers remix of Ebenezer Goode!

It'd be shit if dubstep turned into exclusively indie remixes with wub wub bass. But I don't think that's about to happen anytime soon. I love the Not Over remix because it's heavy as hell and it sounds unlike anything else in the scene while still being totally dubstep.D-Nile wrote:I think it's awful - there's NO way I wold stay on the floor if anyone dropped this - zeitgeist or not - I don't want to hear this kind of thing in dubstep. A bit of cheese now and again never did anyone any harm anyway - provided it doesn't take over everything it makes for a nice bit of contrast with all super serious stuff.
When I list my worries, "too many dubstep producers having top ten hits" is quite a long way down...EFA wrote:Dubstep's developing very rapidly and Its bound to have its mainstream moments but as long as the temptation of a quick few quid doesnt lure too many to the attempt to crack the top 10 then a few one off's for promotional purposes wont hurt.
Not worried about them getting in the charts, more the trying and ending up with too much of the cheesy garage shit that drove me away from the scene before (amongst other things), i'm not lovin it lovin it lovin it!
I also like the use of drums in this and its inspired me to have a play with more "live" sounding ones myself.

Ah, quit stroking your beard and learn to love The Redemptive Power of Blatant Cheese!EFA wrote:Not worried about them getting in the charts, more the trying and ending up with too much of the cheesy garage shit that drove me away from the scene before (amongst other things), i'm not lovin it lovin it lovin it!
edit: I could probably have worked in some kind of Jesus / beard gag if I'd tried there, too.
Its ok, I forgive you!

The klaxons sound like a terrible fart mixed in with shit vocals, all mixed together in a cauldron used by a 3 year old trick or treating in 2005.
Its not doing it for me.
Skreams version is ok, not that exciting for me,
The klaxons are just 2 grey. Not very great.
Black ghosts definitly, definitly feelin that. Its as good as the Klaxons are not.
Waste of bandwidth in my opinion, its not worth being here.
Without the Klaxons, i would like it.
If their voice was not in it.
