having said that, some artists should avoid social media because some artists are just arseholes

Re: Big names who shun DSF.
On the big name personality affecting the support from the purchaser: We all know Zomby is a raving loon (not the nice kind) with a paranoia complex, but it doesn't affect my appreciation of his music. To the extent that I wouldn't buy his tunes because I know he's a bit of a dick. That said I'm more likely to check out someones music if they seem safe in person or an interview or so on.
Basically unless you're selling kids into sexual slavery then it probably won't affect my buying your tunes. Be nice to people and all of sudden you get heaped with more good will and attention from your fan base.

I make music as Forsaken, you can DL all my unreleased (and a couple released) bits here.

If listening to black metal in my teens has taught me ONE THING, it's that you should neva, EVA, care about the artist in relation to the music.
MOST people you will ever meet are utter stnuc and artists are most people too. If you've been fan of at least a couple of hundred musicians in your lifetime, chances are you've listened to a rapist or izan without knowing.

Well, disavowed was probably big word :p, but I think he doesn't really feel completely at home in the dance music scene. I think I remember from an old blogpost of his that he misses the spontaneous feel of hardcore and shit and that he was kinda passed DJ'ing etc. Might've changed since thenwubstep wrote:Sauce?Genevieve wrote:Yeah, Aaron Spectre moved there too and he's disavowed electronic music as a whole :'0

Dunno why, but that made me giggle and fart at the same time.
This is what I think of when you say that:

"Hello, velcome to ze danz moozik scene."
Re: Big names who shun DSF.
shame that so many people feel that way but fuck them. i'm sure that all of us who have been around here for a long time wish that the old vibes were still here, but times change and i'd be surprised if any forum can have an explosion in membership like we've seen without some negative impact. that explosion brings a massive fanbase and speaks to the success of the music so it's hardly the worst thing in the world, especially for these big names who owe a lot of the success to the forum and the community that it engendered
there'll always be people who forget their roots and there'll always be hipsters who abandon the old in favour of the new. who cares what they think?
daz was such a fucking state lol

Yeah that's the one Ben. Majority of the night was fucking jokes. Sleeping in the car was a par that I was pissed about at the time, but looking back can only laugh. Daz is also a stand up guy.gwa wrote:badger wrote:was that the pollen night? you playing the same set twice in one night without realising was a highlightpete bubonic wrote:Rupert is a stand up guy!
