Have been an Apple user for a few years now. I have used a Ti Powerbook since they were first released - cost me a small fortune and has minimal memory / hard disk space. Recently bought a black macbook 2gb RAM 200gb Hard disk that i will be using solely for music production and djing. Use the older Powerbook for web etc.
Will never go back to PC.

got an iBook solely for the music (2004 model) - no problems, ever
got a free g3 iMac for internet use (put in 512mb ram, windows emulator and internet use, no problems in the last year ive had it)
about to upgrade to a core duo 2ghz mac mini!
they're are solid as two week old shit! no breakdowns no crashes

basically at my college the mac people are doing a deal---i can get a standard macbook for £512 along with a free ipod nano till the end of this month .
512 for the proper standard model though with no extra add ons and comes with a gig of ram i think. not sure wheteher or not to get it, ideally i wanna be rocking with 1.5 - 2 gigs for photoshop/illustrator flash and Logic for production but i was wondering if these softwares ran well on just your regular macbook and how easy, expensive it was to get extra ram...obviously the pro would be ideal but i'm stretching things as it is.
if anyone can fill me in it would be much appreciated.
