really great piece. i've been feeling kind of overkilled with dubstep lately and it's been feeling a bit all same samey, but listening to this really made me remember why i loved this music in the first place. it's really great to hear that the people who are making the tunes truly do feel apart of something bigger then themselves and are enjoying it as much as everyone. they all seemed really greatful for all the things they've been able to accomplish through this music and i for one applaud them all.

big ups to everyone involved and for making me feel all warm and tingly inside! :)

Plastician wrote:... Fuck knows what I did to piss off the BBC... We left on very good terms but they have overlooked me for pretty much anything dubstep related ever since I left - strange considering I was their resident dubstep and grime DJ for 18 months.

I don't know if its a coincidence I wasn't involved in, mentioned in or even consulted for this doc, nor do i feature in the photo gallery thing on their web page.
Plastician.. i'm so sorry your voice wasn't in this show.. we only had 30 minutes and i had to cut down 20 hours of interview footage as it was!! there are many people i'd have loved to include from the pioneers like El-B and Zed Bias, thru people who are integral to the scene like Kode 9 and Burial, Hatcha and CrazyD.. some of the international playaz like Dave Q, Goth Trad.. the list is endless..

as it was, we managed 29 tracks and 20 voices in 30 minutes.. and that was a real feat!

if this show is a success, it will hopefully give people a chance to explore more programme ideas at Radio1.. the relationship with grime is
and interesting one, and a half hour show in itself... why don't you pitch to a proposal to Radio1 to make it yourself?

love

Just replied to your post in PM's Maryanne - I don't want this topic to turn into a running conversation about my relationship with the Beeb!!!

Just to re-iterate I felt the documentary was great, i don't actually feel my input would have bettered it in any way I just thought it was strange they weren't in contact for this and a few other things in recent times.

What a documentary! The best overview view i've heard.

And to hear this on Radio 1 at 9pm is impressive! Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Big up NType on the "Brock Out" Slogan!

Thanks to M/A for getting this together!!

The documentary was really well put together. I was well impressed.

Was picking the misses up from cooking class and she hates dubstep, but was fixated by it too, the car speakers were working full time !!!!

I thought Pinch made a lot of sense, very intelligent fella, same with Leofah N-Type & Mala, again talks with real passion.

Glad you got Melissa and boomnoise involved, they must be over the moon.

Was chuffed you had x2 Hessle Audio tracks on, Ramadanman deserves the credit and so to Untold.

Very interested to see the head count on the podcast the beeb sorted out.

Enjoyed it, well done all involved, esp. 'dubstep pundit' boomnoise!

Agree it was a bit strange plastician wasn't featured
