Oh he does. There's just a number of breakcore producers who made their name in breakcore, like the bigger ones, jumped on the dubstep bandwagon, and release bland as hell dubstep. As I said, generally. I'm the first to give mad props where props are due. I mean, I dug Somantic Responses' dubstep on this page. o.o

Who is Orubanbanban? o.o His attitude is exactly what's wrong with the breakcore scene:

VSnares (shows) are not breakcore, classify the music as whatever you want, I still love his shit but breakcore doesn't have a damn thing to do with playing a Dave Matthews Cover Band venue for an audience of midwestern film majors in khakis and new ballance trainers

Why are the clothes, lifestyles, political affiliations, art tastes, and all that crap of the people who attend breakcore shows/listen to it of so much importance? Why, if you enjoy breakcore, are you supposed to be a crusty looking kid who ups the punx (I'm being hyperbolic here) who has a hard on for socialism and communism (yuck to both) and is the scene only for people who meet an invisible list of criteria?

This is what could possibly kill breakcore more than anything else. Lotsa people love it and have an interest in it, far beyond the original scene, but there are so many people gung-ho on keeping it an elite little club that it could only end up suffocating the scene. By trying to keep something small when it wants to become big, you suffocate it. It's the same shit elementary school kids do by building a tree house and putting a 'no girls' sign in front of it. It's no different than the high school cliques (plenty of which I bet a number of breakcore musicians were excluded from) that run amok in almost every high school. But still, there are people PAST the age of 16 who want to exclude 'certain types of people' from their scene because they're 'not cool enough' (in so many words) to be in it?

Are people so bitter these days that they can't be happy for other people to have found something they love, simply because they love it too?

He moved a bit away from "noisy breaky mindfuck" to go near a more "IDMish acidcore brainmelt", wich I really like.

That's probably why lots of his breakcore fans don't really like it (well, from what I heard on another forum).

That's what makes lots of breakcore uninteresting: the intention to fuck up people's ears without any substance. I like intelligent, complex breakcore. Drumcorps? Ebola? Venetian Snares? Count me in.

He moved a bit away from "noisy breaky mindfuck" to go near a more "IDMish acidcore brainmelt", wich I really like.

That's probably why lots of his breakcore fans don't really like it (well, from what I heard on another forum).

That's what makes lots of breakcore uninteresting: the intention to fuck up people's ears without any substance. I like intelligent, complex breakcore. Drumcorps? Ebola? Venetian Snares? Count me in.

IMO, there hasn't been alot of truely standout breakcore in the past few years. Seems like alot of artists either broadened their palette,
or vastly slowed down. There haven't been a ton of new, creative folks like there were from the end of the 90s til the mid 00's. Also, I think
due to the way the scene (and music distro) has evolved - most artists focus on their live sets as opposed to putting out releases. Some of my favorite artists
of the past few years destroy live, but have very few recent releases (eustacian, abelcain/davros, xanopticon, surchai, split horizon, j.stat, capslock, gizmode )

I think even VSnare's earliest work was pretty intelligent and complex (HotF record, PrintF, etc). He's had a few noisy/speedcore digressions along the way,
but IMO, even those were pretty outstanding. His production values have definitely gotten better and some of his newer stuff is softer for sure, but i don't find it more interesting.

Of course, like everything...taste and mileage vary.

Picked up Venetian Snares - Miss Balaton on wax yesterday. Definitely a standout record from the past few years. I'd also say The Teknoist - Like a Hurricane Made Of Zombie is a decent one too. However, yeah... Not seeing much fresh stuff anymore, although to be fair there's lots that's already been done. People like cardopusher and kid606 are moving on to dubstep and grime, and I barely see new breakcore albums these days that don't have atleast 2-3 dubstep tracks inbetween. But bleh, the old stuff still keeps me happy to this day. Listening to old Enduser and Flashbulb records brings back waves of nostalgia that not many other artists can compare to

The new stuff from Kid 606 is nearly all 4x4 bassline stuff from what I've heard. It's good but not amazing. To go on about the Breakcore producers making Dubstep now, there is only one producer worth talking about. Ebola. Two tracks from him that really stand out for me are Painkillers and Through the K-hole. I'd love to say the same about Cardopushers stuff but, to me, it sound as If he has just been sampling bits out of tracks and putting them together for his Dubstep productions. Maybe this is the way he works his Breakcore too but that seems to have a bit more flair and colour to it... Don't get me started on Venetian Snares and his attempt at Dubstep.

Breakcore was the first electronic music-type thing I ever got into, but I guess since I listened to it so much back in 2006 through 2008 I've been listening to more dubstep to sort of take a break from that. However, I'm sure I will always like breakcore, and in fact, that's mainly what I make as well (I think I make about 1 dubstep track for each 2 breakcore tracks). I especially like breakcore that samples lots of dancehall tunes, or "raggacore", for some reason.
