Both are really quite dark but in a strange way
love the intro man props 4 that but i expected it to go sick from there, drop didnt do it 4 me, IMO i think u should lay off the reverb a bit i think it made the drums sound weak,
This is after all said and done just my opinion, so i dont want to come across like a twat just tryin to help out man

New one from me. Mostly dubstep with a hefty detroit techno angle .
http://soundcloud.com/basic-g/piano-loco
Track was entirely made using hardware equipment (mainly an outboard mixer into the yamaha rs7000 hardware sequencer and Alesis fx unit using a tascam multittrack recorder to bounce all tracks).
Not sure about the mixdown my mackie mixer gives the track all types of strange sounds.
Need a review thanks!

Finally got my style of noise down that I wanted to get (even if Futures does classify it as midrange "cack," I can understand the midrange bit, but I've tried not to 'cack' it up too much
)

Big D 90 - Funtitled - Nice haunting synths at the start. To give the intro a more organic feel add some kind of sample - Maybe people talking in the distance or a sample of rain against glass. It would also sound cool if you automated some parameters of the reverb. Really nice melancholy groove you got there. The snare could do with a little compression to give it more punch. Very nice kick + percussion.
Cabre - Better off alone - What the fuck possessed you to do a remix of better off alone ??!.... Im unsure to why the original track is playing in the background with all the bass taken out and huge amounts of reverb added. The whole thing sounds really detached.
Your other tracks are alot better. They would really benefit a mix down and sub. Cool ideas though.
IanFM - I Wish You Could Talk (Stranger Song Mix) - Love the original. You can hear the grains of the sample.. Not to keen on that. The beat is awesome. Reminds me of FaltyDL. When the sample stops at 4.32 the tune becomes alot better. Maybe don't use that exhaling sound so much. The sub could do with a better mix down. All your beats and sounds used are wicked. Maybe rearrange them and leave out the squarepusher sample. Could be big
Shaolinsoul - You mean the world to me - Lovely whirley synths. The hats are too high in the mix. Really nice sounds. Is that kick drum build up a joke! haha. When the tune breaks , it sounds awesome. Once again though, it needs a thorough mix down. Your ambient textures are just not get the definition they deserve. Also, you need to work on its progression. It's pretty hyper , but maybe thats what you were going for. Play around with filters on the vocal
Eops - After the dance - Nice intro beats. Would be nice if the hats were brought up in the mix. Very nice snare. It sounds a little distorted. Is the tune peaking in your daw? At 1.36 a synth comes in which feels ditached from the mix... Maybe turn it down. Awesome bass and reverbatared vocal. Loving the groove. perfect use of bongo's. Lovely gated filtered synth . I can see what your trying to to achieve mate. i really like your sound. Just mix it down and you'll have a nice tune.
Bios - Dubstep to India - Really nice atmospheres. I love the way you haven't gone for a phat riff but have concentrated on phat sounds. Compression would really benefit you percussion. The mix needs more high end. Really appreciate the attention to detail on your sound effects. How long you been making tunes? You really could be onto something if you stick to it.
Prime|Evil - DigitalByte - Really nice ideas here. The tune progresses very nicely. The kick and snare need some work. That growling synth is suffocating the rest of the tune.. Might want to work on that to
. Very nice build ups
It would make things alot easier if you were to listen to other peoples tunes and write feedback before postng your own. That way everyone can get the feedback requested.

Re: one of my first dubstep tunes
feeling that 1, reminds me of a tune i made aaages ago which had the same idea/mood but turned into a grime tuneBig D 90 wrote:just got into producing so feedback is much appreciated

@my fickle eye, intro sounds gud, like the drops guna b huge, but whilst i like the idea the drop feels a bit underwhelming.
@ petemines: good stuff. i can't say fairer than that.my favourites is bampton stint on a jungle tip. and snow day which sounds a bit 2-steppy.it had a slightly different approach in terms of structure and that was refreshing. big up
@Ianfm: the drums are kinda mad, almost 2 skippy 4 my liking lol.but whilst i like the elements of the tune, i think you could have built in a couple interludes/mini drops here and there
EDIT: 4got 2 comment on this 1 - i like the groove of the tune, it reminds me of a direction i was heading in with a certain tune (but it became a grime/funky hybrid).id say it feels more garage influenced (which is never a bad thing), especially when the synth comes into play.
i have also got a dubstep tune that can be found in the link in my signature called 'enigma'. feel free to download and comment on that tune or any of the others

yeah, nice one mate. And sorry, do usually, but I was hanging all of yday and really didn't have the energy to do much! next time I will for sure Wink
Quck question though. How do you feel I could improve on the Drums? Is it the actual sound of the drums, or just what they're doing?
