Back since last time with a track.

Post by llspamll » Fri Oct 02, 2009 1:06 pm

So.. I made this account here like maybe a few months ago or maybe even a year.
Anyways I did it to ask for feedback on tracks and that's when i was just terrible and didn't know the tricks of the trade so I got some terrible feedback on the things I thought that sounded ok.
So now i've come back and I have this cool sounding thing going n wanted a bit of feedback, so...... please :D there on the myspace, links below.

k ill start with my fickle eye. what do you use, it's hard to criticise if i don't know what your working with haha. but really mastering and EQing is something you should figure out yourself cause everyone does if differently.

Lots of good posts in here, hoping for a critique on my tune "City Streets" ex: Frequency range on drums, bass, and any other thoughts would be most appreciated. The tune is 2-step/Garage influenced.

Cheers.

Although I've been mixing dub tracks for a few years I never tried much production. This one came together in 20 minutes after a happy accident I had while working on another project.

Also have another version with a more traditional dubstep drum pattern, but having some ducking issues with that one. A bit of a cheesy vocal, and needs some frequency work on the mud to crisp it up... Go easy on me, not like I'm suggesting anyone should be playing this out anytime soon...

the panning you used on the lead is a little to extreme imo. it distracting me from the song.

ill do a quick one, im no engineer or anything, but cant hear your drums, 2nd bassline is really over the top, nice, but really loud. i like the song in general, just need to bring out the drums and 'smooth' out the bass. ;]

Well i use cubase sx3 but ye i know how to eq i was just wondering whether or not there is something noticable that i missed out and which parts stand out as being to quiet to some people. Getting perspective from someone else can enlighten you to the blindingly obvious, and you go oh shit oh yeah cant believe i didnt see that. my rooms not exactly acousticly treated ehem and i have to make do with the speaker placement i have. :( its a sad story.

Thanks for the comment on turning up the beats, thats made a huge difference, still having problems with the bass, ive synced up the lfo speed changes with the drum beat but its a gradual process, any other feedback would be great. Thanks for listening
