Just finished reading 'A Brief History of Nearly Everything' under someones recommendation on here; which was wicked. Now reading H.P Lovecraft short stories and Richard Dawkins: The Selfish Gene, which is incredible.

Loved this.... I stole the audiobook off the internet recently so I could 'read' it again without having to open my eyes.

- Fictional memories of life in a small town in Jamaica. Really good read.

- If you hated Britpop (I did, on the whole) you'll love this. Haines is hilarious.

- Really great book about late 70s / early 80s music. One of the best books I've read about music.
All of the above were chosen as light reading antidotes to:

which was one of the darkest books I've read in my entire life.

Both on my to-read list. Although less and less interested in reading Dawkins as time goes on.

Die verwandlung. in german, for A level.
its funny cause we aint actually reading it, jus flicking through and hilighting important quotes
apart from that, just finished Dharma Bums by jack kerouac, and started one by roberto bolano.
all these books go right over my head lol

Same.... though, I caved and read the Dawkins on my housemate's recommendation in the end. Some decent thoughts, but his style gets me all itchy, it's all a bit polemic in places... I wanted to punch him in the face on quite a few occasions.
