I've heard this same style of bass used in many other tracks as well - kinda sounds like a voice saying "yay" or something. I dig it, but i woulda just a little less distortion (overdrive distortion?). When the riddim drops out for about 40 seconds - maybe adding some different melodies (maybe more intense sounding ones?) leading up to the gunshot drop could surprise the listener more...add some herbs and spices or whatever. In the last riddim section, maybe adding a quieter but more high-range melody could add some variation - make it feel like the sound is building. I hope that helps.

I run FL. Just cuase I do it on WINE through my JACK drivers instead of my asio ones, doesnt mean anytihng. Its still FL  ... not the bullshit you got installing ustudio. Honestly, the fact your using Ardour and Zyn might be why you sound like your making shit on a fisher price my first keyboard.
Ok thanks for correcting me. I didn't know it was possible to install FL thru Wine, but sorry for making those assumptions on what you use on linux.

Oh, and since Im here and bored, Im gonna throw out a bunch of feedback haha... I havent posted anything new since the bit waaay back on the first page haha, but, if you wanna return the favor, its in my sig, and on my youtube, so have a listen, leave a rply somewhere or something if your feeling generous.

@Lman : Want it back... Mmm I like the midrangey glitchey bit thats there on first ntoe when I hit play, the intro is pretty nice... the rhythm feels wierd, and I cant quite tell why, I think a bit of it could be your drum samples, but I also noticed there wasnt really much of a hat pattern in areas, which was loosing attention... the bass patches are really cohesive, but they seem like thier fighting for space a bit, eq them a bit more maybe? Then again, it cold be my taste, I avoid layering too heavily when it comes to synth patches in general. The little flute samples or melody or however you made it though, made me smile :D ... Keep up the good work, fine tune them mixdowns and youll have some bangers on your hands, real grrovey dude.

@Hakka, mmm, now this is sounding nice man... the intro pads sound really good, the arpy sorta melody that comes in is good n ravey heh, was enjoying it... nice drop, the rest was tight... then what comes in man, haha, now thats good shit... reminds me of every rave I used to go too when I was 15, the synth patch and the melody, but its awesome! New take on classic sounds with the halftime dnb rhythms and classic patches... big up man... keep it up.

@Dension, All I can say, thats what a remix should sound like haha, n good job. Nice patch work, fits tight with the sampling... great work... can I get a 320 haha?

@ Basic A - Your the first one to actually like the tune. Like you said reminds me of pre 2000 stuff with a hint of new school. Not many people feeling it but i love it, the exact sound i was going for. Your track is huge! Bare comments and well deserved! 8)

@ Lman - Cheers mate! Your tune sounds hectic, love the crunchy synth and the energy of the whole track, really good work!

Really liking this track, the vocal samples work well with the track also like the shuffley shakers sounding pretty cool. Sounds well produced as well and gets my head nodding so I like it.

Dark synths at the start sound cool and then merge well with the bassline which is pretty cool, the random incidentals and vocal samples work well in the track, again another well produced track, don't really have anything negative to say about it, keep it up.

Loving the synth sound at the start and the drums, however the drop could of been better such as leaving a small seconds of silence after the drop to keep the listeners holding on combine that with dropping the volume of the buildup to about -2dbs or so then bringing it back to 0db volume for the bass, this will make the bass sound alot more heavier than it should. I would also lessen the overdrive/distortion FX on the yoy/yay bassline, another tip to make your bassline's more varied is to make two basslines then switch between them after usually 4 bars between each.

I think you have some good ideas and some great sounding synths, you just need to keep on producing more and more tracks and you will keep on getting better.

@ zonetrooper5

yeah thanks for the feedback same time!!!!

liking emotions, loving the melody, I think maybe you got just a lil bit to much reverb on the snare, you using sends or inserting the verb direct?

I've got three snares layered then I put reverb on there around 40% on the dry/wet knob. Also tweaked the decay knob so it would get that cracking snare right in the face then I use some compression on the whole of the drum group (using Ableton Live btw) so it gets my drums sounding right as well as keeping the levels consistent.

Appreciate the feedback man, tbh this was very nearly a dead duck. I wrote the main bit and I was like, "wtf now!"

mixdowns have always been the part i need to work on, but its getting there. Easy.

thoughts?

@ joma

Cool tune, especcially during the drops. Nice work with those vocals. It's a little different from what I usually hear here but that's definitely a good thing.

@ kemikal kid

This pretty solid production wise for a n00by. Nice work on the wobblez. Maybe a little more thought in the arrangement would go down well - although this might just be personal taste making me say this more than anything else.

@ zonetrooper, love the intro, nice choice of chords and melodies, lots of great stuff in this tune, great sounds too :)

^ liking it. sounds real mellow. If anything the samples a little on the tinny side, otherwise a pretty well made track

@ Lman

totally digging the vibe I like the build and how it creeps along, good automated wobble and the distorted? second drop is really pleasing to me late night sitting in the dark with the AC on blast. Definitely looking forward to seeing how your sound progresses.

Give My Tune a listen Eh?
