you want help to pronounce chea...

chea has alot of meanings... but they are all positive
sweet as, hello, nice, good, mean(really good), i like it, o.k., denoting agreement,
its all about the way ya say it.
chea? chea! chea chea! CHEEEEAAAA!!!

then there is the alternative spellings...
chur, churr.

i think it may have started off around 10years ago,
most likely its an adaption of... cheers.

ya cant have a convo with a maori without using chea.
I love the fact yall are using it, cracks me up hard.
kiwi slang... taking over the interwebs!!

so chea is like chur

sweet

i love those all purpose words that just express a vibe, english doesn't have enough of them. i've been saying chur for a while in australia, picked it up working with maori guys on building sites. people probably think i'm nuts but everyone seems to understand what i mean

Ah, now that I think about it I say chea all the time. I just add an s on the end and say "cheers". Given its meaning and pronunciation it's blatantly "cheers" morphed by the Aussies/Islanders.

Cheers.

one thing you got totally wrong, was the aussie/islander thing.
Thats the biggest insult to give maori ever!!

we may have spread it to those people... but it belongs to kiwi/maori!
