the comparative lack of navel-gazing / obsessive pigeonholing is why i, and probably lots of other people, post here in the first place

this^ and maybe this forum belongs here because it does actually still have very obvious ties to the dubstep/uk underground movement....
at the end of the day the majority of people who come here are probably more than happy to continue to. The above reasons state why it's still valid/effective and it would be rude to just abandon this......I think that the influence that dubstep/uk "continuum" sounds have had can often be heard in the productions that are found in the music of this forum and so therefore, for a stranger stumbling upon here instead of the main forum, that would be an exciting an interesting discovery, but one where the tie/relevance to dubstep will in some way be hopefully acknowledged through stylistic or common ties.
It's often the case that art and social groups like to be too inclusive and protectionist. In musical terms this often comes across as snobbery. Creating a new forum would defo be too inclusive and counter productive.
I would argue that the public face of dubstep would be a little less varied and ummmmm "interesting" if this forum was no longer part of one of it's major publicity sources??
Social groups do come and go but it does seem rather daft talking about an alternative name or home when all the above reasons and points are taken into consideration. If a new place is gonna happen someone or moreover something will make it. Hope this makes sense?!!
