@jay - Super sick dude I like the sounds your making, all i can really think of is maybe turn the hats down a lil' and maybe it would be cool to slow it down and do like a really slow wub in the middle somewhere :e: !!! super sick dude!!

@reignz - Pretty interesting wobbles! I wana hear it once it's finished! diggin the voices too!

@krave - I like the I'm not your toy remix, I think u should speed up the wobbles though, there kinda a lil slow! and maybe its just me but it seems theres a lil bit too much resonance on the wobble :o

:D Anyways I've had some time to work on my project since last week or whenever I last posted it up and I wanted to see what people think of the direction I'm going in. I still got ALOT to work on it, and hopefully this will be my first completed song ( not a remix ) so I'm pretty excited about it. :] Anyways it would be awesome if someone could critique me or give me some hints/tips/help.

I was pretty surprised today, I got it sounding pretty good in my room ( To my ear ) but I put it on a stick and took it to my car ( not the best system but just like 2 infinity speakers + 2 infinity tweeters + a 12 in kicker sub) and it was basically like all bass, I know when you go from system to system the sound changes, but this was like a huge change, is this just because it hasn't been mastered or anything? Can you tell me when you listen to it, is everything like overrun by bass or what?
But yeah any criticism would be appreciated :D because thats what will make me better! Thanks! keep dubsteppin!

No it doesn't seem over-ran by bass particularly. Nice wobbles, quite melodic, drums are a little quiet on these headphones but nice sequencing. The sort of metallic sword sample sound that fills the bassline could just be variated a little, so a pattern of them established- one, two, one two, two if you know what I mean, for extra variation. Or some reverb/delay on them. Overall not a bad start.

@ogunslinger ya man, sounding much better. good to hear your track improving. bass seems good, not too loud. your buildup might be a little sudden. maybe mess around with the drums and their timing in the buildup.

NICORISONE: I say taek the first half of "leveetation-rough-rough-version2" & mix it on the beginning of "great-scott-its-a-harmonica" :D
(by the way, love the samples from back to the future haha! Awesome!)

ogunslinger: LOVE the fucking intro... Tight ass sample / synth / what have you. I'd make the main Synth a lot heavier just for that intro. Fill out more range on the freqs like the intro is doing.... Some bits of the track kinda remind me of some of rusko's tracks also tho...
But generally, keep this one up! Definitely deserves some sick synthy goodness

gantzgraf: liking your choice of samples, I think it needs to be structured a bit more + some heavy bass layed on top & that = win

Good start to a track man, liking the feel of it. Needs something to act as more of a hook/melody that can be repeated to make it all flow together properly, and i'm not too keen on the 32nd (?) drum build up, but each to their own i guess.

I like the beat man, very chilled. Keep going in this direction and you'll be onto a winner i reckon :)

Very cool stuff here, the saw gets a bit overpowering towards the middle, so maybe a bit more automation to make it take the back seat to the arpeggio you've got going on.

Sounds pretty good, although you can (or I could at least) definitely tell it's a timestretched version of Electric Relaxation, nice sample though. The timestretch might be a little extreme for my liking, but I know the original pretty well anyway.

My Effort:

A remix I've been working on for longer than I care to remember, I'm always going back and adding bits to it. I think the sub might be a bit overpowering on it, all feedback greatfully recieved. :)

@gantzgraf, I like the style of the tune. I like the sub bass making an appearance every one in a while, maybe make it a little bit louder? I like it though.

@volcanogeorge, Nice remix! I like the bass. The sub bass sounds fine to me. Mind if I get the name of the original song?

Any feedback on my mix? So far it is not really mastered the way I wanted it to be. Maybe needs to be a little louder.

man you should DEFINITELY go back and finish this one, im diggin it for sure. sounds like it has some trip hop/downtemp influence but i like the increase in volume for that second drop, definitely get back on it if you can. I have a hard time "finishing" old tracks for some reason, i end up nitpicking them to death hah!

anyway, could use some feedback fellas

@ Lazure. I really really like your song. alot. and thats why i want more out of it. its got tons of potential but it needs more than that one loop, or something similar too it. it really needs some new sounds to keep it fresh

@Lazure: Love the intro especially, sounds well cool man :D Love the stabs :D Whats the vocal sample from?
Ohhh, and the drop, yum <3

@Nicorisone: leveetation, finish it! Starts awesomely, love the melody. Not too keen on the drop tho, or the synth after the drop, but some huge potential there I think!

@Gantz: Really digging this man. The drums, are just so beautiful <3 Keep going in this direction, looking forward to hearing a finished version. Could be a huge chilled tune :D

Right well, on to mine. I feel its coming along nicely now. Sorted out a few problems with it, and sounding better imo. Added some bass in there, few other things, and structured it slightly.
First tune i've gotten this far, so im happy, but feel theres things that need to be fixed, mainly being the sub bass.

Anyway, please listen to it all and let me know what you think!

Cheers.

@ nnny
i think the sub bass is fine actually idk if you see something wrong with it you can tweak it to your hearts desire. however i found the drums to be kinda boring and instead of pushing the song in the direction it should be going they just existed to no real point. like they're there because you know a song is supposed to have drums, but they're not really moving me. and the bass line really needs some more attention. its a cool sound but it sounds like you were going for chill, but after a while it came off as boring. and i found the piano at times a bit overpowering. im telling you all this not to be a dick but to make your song better. (imo of course). and i'd really appreciate if you would listen to my song

@nnny , I like the bass just rolling along with the song. The drums are minimal but they do what is needed; maybe a bit more variation. In my opinion, I thought the intro was kind of long and kind of was dragging its heels to get going. I thought it sounds good.
@Rightontime27, I know it's a chill song, but the build up and drop just didn't do it for me. I did like the variation of the bass and the automation of the bass also.

Any feedback on this one?

@hendrix what about the intro/buildup would you change?
and i thought the drums would make a cool break down where every thing went straight, but as a begining it made the song feel like you made the different clicks of a metronome your hits
