this is from that BBC article... You can't cancel someone's passport and make them stateless. That's a statement worthy of Palin if I ever heard one. Is this woman really PM ??

WikiLeaks itself, which has split since some supporters became disaffected over Assange's handling of the Afghanistan war logs

I seriously dislike how he has sacked colleagues for daring to question him.
I seriously dislike how he is personally suppressing other information they want released because it doesn't fit HIS agenda.
I seriously dislike how he cosied up to Netanyahu (and seriously dislike how Netanyahu cosied up to Assange even more).
I seriously dislike his comments about 9/11 being a "False Conspiracy"
I seriously dislike him dismissing 9/11 victims families and others interested in knowing what went on that day as "annoying"
I'm deeply suspicious of his award from the Rothschild owned -The Economist.
I'm deeply suspicious of the leaks considering they contain nothing of any real world-changing value.
I'm deeply suspicious that they are releasing lists of "US sites of special interest" for apparently no valid reason - except perhaps to play into the hands of those who wish to push for more censorship to protect those "interests".
I'm deeply suspicious of a "Private" in Iraq getting his hands on top level Embassy documents from other countries.
I'm deeply suspicious that Israel knew BEFORE the leaks that there was nothing in them that they needed to worry about.
I'm deeply suspicious that MSM news outlets refused to touch the "ClimateGate" emails on principle because it was "Stolen property" but appear to have forgotten those principles completely for Assange's "Leaks"
Most of all I'm completely suspicious about the MSM suddenly taking such a high interest in this one "Leak" site when there have been other sites and journalists doing the same thing for decades with next to no MSM coverage at all.
Wikileaks is a game being played out on the headlines and front pages of the MSM.

Re: WikiLeaks
Depends how long it takes before Assange gets taken out. I'm curious as to what in it, but it's probably not going to be a huge revelation (like the war logs and the cables). I really wish people would just shut the fuck up about this stuff. It's the Streisand effect in full force.deadly habit wrote:how long till the "insurance file" key is given ya think?

We all know that >insert government here< are responible for mass murder/illegal wars/bla bla bla. And his proped leak about some banks won't really come as a shock anyway, considering they are all as bad as each other.
The same old people will still control whats going on a global level and our civil libities will be reduced even further.
Simply just a smokescreen to introduce more laws and control?

Now, I'm so glad it was decided not to make a politics sub-forum. What a pile of steaming ignorance that would be.

Re: WikiLeaks
I would've done that with no hesitation had you actually shown evidence for any of this, but alas in the all-knowing "enlightenment" of the people on this board nothing requires any kind of evidence or logical backing whatsoever. Let's begin...
I seriously dislike how he has sacked colleagues for daring to question him.
Evidence?
I seriously dislike how he is personally suppressing other information they want released because it doesn't fit HIS agenda.
Suppressing what? Again no evidence, this is complete horse shit.
I seriously dislike how he cosied up to Netanyahu (and seriously dislike how Netanyahu cosied up to Assange even more).
Firstly, this is fallacious from guilt by association. And the closest thing they've done to "cozying" up to each other was saying how the leaks could help bring some peace to the middle east, especially regarding Iran (src)
I seriously dislike his comments about 9/11 being a "False Conspiracy"
So he doesn't believe everything you believe? I used to be a truther as well, but now realize that people take it to impossible extremes. People will go to the great investigative lengths of watching loose change or zeitgeist and assume they are an expert on the subject when there is still much debate to be had. It's beyond a doubt that the official story is full of holes, and i'm absolutely positive assange feels the same way. But the movement has become bastardized so much from ignorant fanatics looking for a cause. Regardless, just because someone doesn't have the same radical views as you doesn't automatically make them a CIA agent.
I seriously dislike him dismissing 9/11 victims families and others interested in knowing what went on that day as "annoying"
This is straight from the fox news handbook. Completely out of context. Here is what he actually said:
""I believe in facts about conspiracies," he says, choosing his words slowly. "Any time people with power plan in secret, they are conducting a conspiracy. So there are conspiracies everywhere. There are also crazed conspiracy theories. It's important not to confuse these two. Generally, when there's enough facts about a conspiracy we simply call this news." What about 9/11? "I'm constantly annoyed that people are distracted by false conspiracies such as 9/11, when all around we provide evidence of real conspiracies, for war or mass financial fraud." What about the Bilderberg conference? "That is vaguely conspiratorial, in a networking sense. We have published their meeting notes."

I'm deeply suspicious of his award from the Rothschild owned -The Economist.
This is just more blind, unfounded paranoia. Ownership =/= Management.
I'm deeply suspicious of the leaks considering they contain nothing of any real world-changing value.
You're missing the point of this. This isn't meant as a direct attack to anybody. What it is doing is changing the perception of the pubic and opening them up to information that was never given much press before. However, this is a specific case where the leaks did directly change the world.
I'm deeply suspicious that they are releasing lists of "US sites of special interest" for apparently no valid reason - except perhaps to play into the hands of those who wish to push for more censorship to protect those "interests".
This whole ordeal is ultimately a battle for the internet and what it can be used for. U.S. government officials are fighting against this and ultimately for censorship of the internet (Clinton for example). That particular leak shows that the role of the diplomat is less that of the negotiator, and more of the intelligence agent. There are other things you can take from it as well, but that would distort the point.
I'm deeply suspicious of a "Private" in Iraq getting his hands on top level Embassy documents from other countries.
He hacked into databases he had limited legal access to. It was obviously "illegal".
I'm deeply suspicious that Israel knew BEFORE the leaks that there was nothing in them that they needed to worry about.
Source? There are most definitely leaks concerning israel, like this one. I fail to see the point of this statement, as if the goal of wikileaks is to implicate absolutely every developed country of genocide. There is plenty yet to come.
I'm deeply suspicious that MSM news outlets refused to touch the "ClimateGate" emails on principle because it was "Stolen property" but appear to have forgotten those principles completely for Assange's "Leaks"
The mainstream media re-hashed the government's anti-wikileak rhetoric and to this day condemn it on a daily basis. How is wikileaks all of a sudden responsible for the actions of any media outlets other than it's contacts at the 5 or 6 newspapers it works with?
Most of all I'm completely suspicious about the MSM suddenly taking such a high interest in this one "Leak" site when there have been other sites and journalists doing the same thing for decades with next to no MSM coverage at all.
Which is the point. It's getting coverage now because of the implications made and the controversy behind it. Leaking is an illegal act. In the process of condemning it you're giving it coverage and more people will become aware of how ridiculous and conspiratorial our government officials are.
Wikileaks is a game being played out on the headlines and front pages of the MSM.

Read or watch "manufacturing consent" by noam chomsky. The whole idea of "controlled media" you are talking about is the result of our capitalist system, and is just a bi-product of its mechanisms, namely profit-motive.
Jump aboard the Assange train if you wish. I'll stand on the platform and wave you off.
Funny because the only "train" I can see from here is "omgzorz the government conspiracy is behind everything ever!". From reading the news and comments and such i'd put money that at this moment more people condemn assange than praise him.
