Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- JANUARY 2011
Heres my tune, finished but to be mastered, anybody know any mastering engineers that are good and cheap? :')
Soundcloud
As for feedback:
Kidstrange-
nice dark vibe on the intro, i like it. Nice wobbles, like that sub that pitches down as a fill, good track pal.
Creep1g-
Bit too hectic for my liking, and i think the gameboy type synth at the start is too loud, plus your drums need to be a bit punchier, good effort otherwise man.
L33-
Quality man, big tune that is, literally nothing i can think of to improve it nice one!

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- JANUARY 2011
@kidstrange: This is not a "sick as filth" type comment, although I honestly got that impression. Your bass, especially when panned is very strong and very unsettling. I like that. Your snare sounds a little overcompressed/distorted, however. And gheeeehhh, 1:32 made me feel like vomiting. I don't even know if it was in a good way. It was just... debilitating. You have something amazing going on here, and it's making my stomach turn. Keep it up, please. (Will you make this available for download?)
@Antihero: You're right; this carries pretty stong dub/reggae with it. I like the introduction of more modern elements, though, like some aspects of the synth line. The break at 3:40 felt a little needed, though. It's almost like a pressure lifted at the point. The pressure of your bass. Kudos.
@Cheeky: Strong midrange in this one. I feel like it overpowers the bass a bit, and it's a bit... dry. Bass stabs in the second verse are über nice! Nice headroom, too. I always like to feel dynamics in a song. Also, concerning mastering engineers -- you can do a ton to make things sound great on your own, to the point that a mastering engineer might not be even necessary at a point.
Also, hey, all! Been a while, but I'm back where I belong. Picked up a lot of things along the way, and I believe it'll all help my music in the future. So, I'm kind of revisiting my roots and reworking a lot of previously held ideas. Tell me what you think, please.

cheeky everything seems to be in order, love the sound clip. needs a little more bass, and id lose the yai parts, its not even needed.

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- JANUARY 2011
@Cheeky nice intro man really dig the samples. like the beat, and the rest on the snare. over all sick tune man imo snyth could have some more beef behind it (although im not on the best speakers atm so dont take it to serious). over all really wicked tune man.
@kikaruu very interesting truthfully never heard anything like this, and i must say i enjoy it. guitar riffs are sweet! ..are those samples or did you record those yourself? over all great thing going here. you got yourself a new follower.
@nnny (dream in oriental) that piano! .. this track is so smooth very enjoyable. Not usre if your going for this, but it reminds me of a soundtrack song which imo is a good thing keep it up. (terrible vibrations) imo could be stronger, and that rise sound im not really feeling it i think you have it playing to much. it made me think a change up was near..in which you kept tricking me every time . interesting use of the rise no doubt. both tracks are very good keep at it for sure. you have a feel for the chill side which is awesome.
@GDavies nice work really could see this in a hegelian based film (if you know any film makers there you go
) I like the snare and all the "blips & blops". all sounds great man keep at it

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- JANUARY 2011
@Kidstrange: I'm über glad that you called them guitar riffs, since that's exactly the sound/idea I was striving for, since I don't have a reliable/precise method for recording my real guitars. Honestly, they're just distorted/pitchbent saw waves with a bit of chorus and delay. And, as for what to call that type of music? Because of the samples, lolicore, I guess. Otherwise, probably progressive drum'n'bass or something similar.
You've also got yourself a new follower, really. I really like the ideas you bring to the table.

@Kikaruu Love your use of samples! Great track and really different from the things i've heard here on this forum! Good job!
@nnny Epic intro man! Great quality overall in your track! Really relaxing and sweet!
@G.Davies Great dark track man! Love the bleepes and the snare! Keep it up!
As for me, this is actually my first post here all'though i foubd this site a couple of months ago. Been reading alot and learning even more! Great community and seriusly the best dubstep site i've seen so far!
This is my third dubstep track, thought i'd post the latest work i've done instead of all three, BUT i would love it if you had some time over to check out my other tracks!

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- JANUARY 2011
kikaruu - interesting track. i like the old-school 8 bit sounds. i'm on a shitty computer right now, so i can't really comment on the sub... but the track is exciting.
cibiia - nice glitchy bass. sounds good. my only constructive criticism would be to add some more variation to the bass. some random noise and/or samples would give it a little more space.

i know this needs mastering (so while comments about levels/EQ are helpful - not exactly what i'm looking for). but i definitely feel that this is a great improvement over my previous tracks. so let me know what you think, i'm not easily discouraged.

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- JANUARY 2011
@kidstrange: Very chill minimal sounding track. Hard to comment on the drums as I didn't hear the previous version but they sound good on the current one. Interesting use of the sudden stops throughout the track.
@Cheeky: First thing I notice is the sub bass is lacking but thats probably not your fault as I'm hearing these tunes on imac speakers so thats probably the real culprit. Nice sample intro. The wobble tone and overall track is a bit too monotonous for me. Nice change in the kicks at the end of the track though. Bass is definitely up front in this track.
@kikaruu: Wow that's an intense track. Love the intro build up to around 40 seconds in. At 57 seconds though wow got some epic pads there with all the stuff going on. So assuming 57 seconds is the drop I like it all but once the pads disappear and the sample becomes clear with the constant punch ins, it becomes a bit much. An interesting track indeed and definitely different from what I'm use to hearing on here. Also its cool to see another artist on here in the texas area, Big Up!
@nnny: Proper tune right there. Very chill but very melodic. My fav track so far. My only qualm is I can't hear the sub but as I mentioned above I'm on a imac right now so its probably the speakers fault.
@GDavies: Drums sound tight specially the kick. It's really popping hard. Nice arp synth at the end. Probably what the first half was missing but at the same time it makes the 2nd half different. Interesting choice to get rid of the bass half way doing the arp synth part. Changes the feel big time.
@Cibiia: Great vocals first off. Remind of a certain vocalist whose name doesn't come to mind now. Has that dance dub feel to it once it drops. Not my kinda tune but could see it going down well in the clubs. Some hard house guys could probably spin this too.
@bassinine: Them pads jump at me. Haunting indeed;best part of the track. A lot of good sounds in this one. Nice bass modulations in particular the one that begins at 3:12 really heavy sound to it and reminds me of the borgore sound.
Don't have a new track yet but haven't commented in a while so figured I'd get back to it. Hope to be posting a new track soon.

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- JANUARY 2011
@kikaruu I really like the track and general flow.. really like the intensity. The only thing I would say is the sound at least for me was pretty distorted throughout most of the track (maybe just on my Pioneer HDJ-1000 headphones or the general recording quality) but if this tune was crisper and cleaned up a bit, it would be a banger! I dunno, maybe more compression or something would help... *shrugs* just a thought..
@nnny - dream-in-oriental-newsub - solid track mate! The bass is bangin on the drop! Nice and clear! That background melody is nice too... flows real nice throughout the track. BIG UPS!
@Cibiia nice track... the bass is pretty nice. lots of variation and the overall flow/structure is nice... where did the lyrics come from?
Here's my latest track "Walking Dead" inspired by zombie movies and managed to use 90% of my own samples from around the house except for the main kick and 3 synths for the background. The growl is actually me belching (slowed down and played at a much lower key
). Any comments or feedback are appreciated and I'll definitely return the favor!

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- JANUARY 2011
I woke up... and I suddenly knew what I had to do: clean my room. Well, that, and make this:
Soundcloud
Feedback welcome.
@Cibiia: Is that sample from Fall Out Boy? I like your bass; it feels like more than the eight-note traditional wobbles, and it's range lends a sort of glitchy quality to it. Your drums have excellent headroom, and your kick stands out well. Nice work, overall!
@G-Davies: You set a nice atmosphere in the beginning and it translates well to the second section. (3.41) I really like it from then on; it feels a little hauntish.
@Bassinine: Something about this makes me think of riding down the street on a lazy Sunday morning... inside of an earth mover. It's just big, and yet laid back. NIce mix.
@@Pain: I listened again and I think I know what you're talking about; I think it's the gabber kicks that should have went away with the ads, and then less hi-hats as well. This is in 220 bpm alternating with 110, so everything gets crushed together during the verses. Thanks for the heads-up!
@@NonXero: Ack, I think I know what you mean as well. I think the problems are the choir and pads -- as much as I LOVE them, they fill the entire spectrum, actually, and the C-6 to C-8 sitar-swells don't help, as they're a little too loud and destroying headroom. I really like the idea of adding more treble to bass-heavy music, but I'm going to have to find a compromise at some point. Thank you for the input!

bassinine: Ow man! What a track
Only thing i could say is to eq the synths a bit more so they are a bit clearer. But that's nothing, big track!
nonXero: Nice deep track.. Should go for a bit more percussion. Maybe make the kick a bit clearer.. Overall chilled track, enjoyed and sat back
kikaruu: Nice wobbles, but it's a bit to much on the drop.. Try letting the high tones out, i think it would sound much better. The 'backspins' & the breaks are very nice! Good work
Cassius remix
Hope you guys like it!

Feedback for Page 8 -
@dj seizure Nice stuff man, relaxing stuff
@centauri Sounding great except it sounds unfinished, no intro/drop/chorus nothing just "ideas" mushed.
@speakerlouts sounds really like muddled and confusing, I didn't spend a lot of time listening to this one. The talent is there though
@Quasi Needs more balance of the intensity, less in the intro bulding into what you hear right at 0:00, bring us into the feeling first, you know?
O.O... Trying to be honest and constructive please don't hate!

Hey guys
heres my track:
Soundcloud
@joeroxor: really cool man! sounds very glitchy and old school
one thing though that wobble really hurts my head
@jaspervc: haha this track is awesome, i personally would turn down the settings a bit on the formant filter making it more subtle (that's just me though)
@kikaruu: love the intro :O the drop is pretty sick too but i would turn down that lead and turn up the bass (very juvenile criticism i know
)
Cheers guys
