Benga doesn’t ‘want to be any part of dubstep anymore’
Re: Benga doesn’t ‘want to be any part of dubstep anymore’
I'm pretty sure Benga and Skream are just having a laugh and aren't really leaving the past behind and doing something different with their music, but then again I saw Quest saying something about it on twitter as if it's true. We're all being trolled
Re: Benga doesn’t ‘want to be any part of dubstep anymore’
you are admittedly quite ill-informed on one of the essential producers and originators of the dubstep sound. this is a fact. perhaps you should go back and gain some education on what Benga actually sounds like before you form an opinion. but yah know, what would be the point of message boards if you had to do that?Immerse wrote:. that said i have never explored his tunes, im sure there are some good ones out there
Re: Benga doesn’t ‘want to be any part of dubstep anymore’
Yes because I don't understand why you think I'm personally arguing with you. You are obviously not the type of forum head I was speaking to. There is a core element of people who can't stand the idea of dubstep changing, but thats mainly because they've grown an emotional association with the dubstepforum and the root elements of the sound. If that's not you, I don't know why you should be offended. OK den.Maccaveli wrote:Do I seriously have to explain how that connects to your big rant?cyrusfx wrote:OK, bait taken!Maccaveli wrote:Cyrusfx, you are aware that dubstep's been evolving constantly into many, many other things besides brostep, right? And that a lot of people on this forum listen to all different kinds of it, and electronic music in general? You act like everyone here only listens to 2005 shit, when there's clearly a lot of appreciation for post-dubstep, the Hessle and Swamp 81 sounds, the rollers that Youngsta's been pushin lately, Silkie and Swindle's sound, etc. Don't try to tell us we're all narrow minded about dubstep or music in general.
So now here's the next step:
What the _fuck_ are you talking about?
Re: Benga doesn’t ‘want to be any part of dubstep anymore’
speaking for myself, i get more bothered when dubstep stops changing and just starts regurgitating itself ad infinity
but then again, it's just one tiny slice of the music pie so who has time to get caught up and care? so much great music these days! if you're not finding stuff up your alley these days, you're not looking

The middle two videos are from my youtube channel.Phigure wrote:his pre-2006 or so stuff is really the only shit that does it for me. not even stuff like afro warrior. night's probably the only tune i really enjoyImmerse wrote:cyrus you just earned -10 respect points. wtf does the genre being 6 years "old" have to do with us having to move on? why would i want to when its the genre i love? its not going anywhere and there are producers that still are creating all sorts of sounds not just brostep.
ps: we should change this thread into a benga youtube link hall of fame, because i have yet to stumble upon a benga song i actually really liked as awful as that sounds. that said i have never explored his tunes, im sure there are some good ones out there
his stuff on big apple was always my fav, skank > all

I don't get why you guys are acting like you are losing sleep over this. It's not like Benga has been producing tunes that are really good in the past 2 years anyways. Honestly the only tunes I really like from him is B4 the dual and Skank. Other than that I really don't care if he doesn't want to make dubstep anymore. Also you guys act like dubstep is the only genre of music you listen to. Just get over it, because it seems like the interview was all jokes. Next thread.

What if Benga doesn't even know how to make dubstep anymore...
Maybe he only knew how to make records that Hatcha might play...
and now he's making records that girls might sing on...
He could be completely selfless - then what?
Question a mans sorcery?

Time to diffuse the situation....

Re: Benga doesn’t ‘want to be any part of dubstep anymore’
Yeah but you also said you never explored his tunes. Sounds to me like you don't know WTF you're talking about. Either way, I've got better things to do. Benga rocks. Sorry if you disagree, its your loss, really.Immerse wrote:are you fucking dumb? i clearly stated that i havent listened to enough of his songs to have a solid opinioncyrusfx wrote:you are admittedly quite ill-informed on one of the essential producers and originators of the dubstep sound. this is a fact. perhaps you should go back and gain some education on what Benga actually sounds like before you form an opinion. but yah know, what would be the point of message boards if you had to do that?Immerse wrote:. that said i have never explored his tunes, im sure there are some good ones out there

BREAKING NEWS
Benga is working as mod on Drugsforum dot com, actually moderating the cocaine forum. Probably gets addicted to forget what happens with dubstep. Big ups to his new career and hope he take care of his heart.

Can't really get uspet about this. The man has made some of the best tunes in dubstep, and he deserves a lot of love for that. What he is making now isn't dubstep, and to be honest i don't think his image can handle him going back to diary of an afro warrior. Leave him be, respect him and go back to the studio and try and recreate what you believe the scene is missing now. Bless

That being said acid lie and faithless were really big tunes, but i don't think he made as much money off of that as he did making katy b and youngman shit... And that just might be reason why he doesn't do that anymore.JensMadsen wrote:Can't really get uspet about this.
