We have a similar history. I played guitar in a death metal band called Deprecated. We're from San Diego. https://www.facebook.com/DeprecatedUSA The bands technically still together but we haven't played shows in years. We recently recorded a track with Terrance Hobbs from Suffocation and Matt Sotelo from Decrepit Birth.

Coming from a technical style, production and all the different aspects involved in building a tune got me hooked. I have been trying to get local musicians to collaborate with but unlike you, Datsik and Excision, people tend to want to work on their own around here. I build my tunes very much the way you described your process.
Anyways, my question is have you worked much with granular synthesis like CA Alchemy and do you think death metal vocals could be turned into anything usable?

I've found a few vids about granular stuff but not enough. I turned a tiny loop from a kick drum sample into a killer distorted guitar/bass sound though so I know its powerful method.Sinestepper wrote:Try it?ill mindset wrote: do you think death metal vocals could be turned into anything usable?
