How bout they just ride on the sidewalk and then whenever a person comes along, they go onto the road. Then they go back on the sidewalk after passing the person. Problem solved.

Yeah but it's not just "get off your land because we need it for freeways" it's usually "here's a cheque for more than what the land is actually worth so you can relocate." Social housing doesn't recognize the impracticality of owning land, it simply recognizes that it's unaffordable for some people (especially the unemployed, those with disabilities, those with terrible financial management skills, etc.). Just because Ferrari's are out of reach for the majority of people it doesn't mean that they should be illegal....

People talk about inequity as though it's the worst thing in the world. IMO inequity is what pushes us to achieve greater things. Why would I want to work my ass off if it won't make much of a difference in my life? There's some people who can't achieve due to life circumstances and disabilities, but the majority of problems I see are because people are either lazy, make terrible life decisions (just see the "keep the baby or abort it" thread) or don't have the first clue about financial management.
