DJ Sinc Vision wrote:Is that Dodonpachi Dai Ou Jou that i see there?? Sick game. Got really into that and Espgaluda at one point a couplea years back. Gotta love the bullet ballet shmups. Less about watching where the bullets are and more about looking where they're not. Some of the boss battles are insaaaane. This vid is from the true last boss of DoDon when you play through twice in a row and fulfill certain criteria.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uG9COkH6QYs
Dai Ou Jou has 5 levels, and a second loop is available if the player manages to complete the first loop and satisfy certain criteria. The requirements are any one of: * Less than 2 deaths * Less than 3 bombs used * Collecting all 10 bees in at least 3 stages. The bees in each level must be collected without dying.

If the player then succeeds in completing the second loop, they face the true final boss of the game, Hibachi, as demonstrated in this video.

shit. the. bed.

i can only get to the 4th level of dai ou jou on one credit. and that's on a good day.

espgaluda is a bit more forgiving.

must admit that cave shooters are too much for me really. i enjoy them, but - the guy in that clip you posted - do you think he actually can see what he's doing, or dors he sort of detach himself from the picture (like a magic eye pic??) and look at the overall pattern?

the concentration and focus levels required to play at that level are simply alien to me. although, maybe with no social life, that game and a steady diet of caffeine and nicotine it could be done...

radiant silvergun is more me. :D

Considering 'Army of Two'. Owe my brother a game, so may pick two up.. one each.. I hear the game is co-op based (and I'm in Leeds whilst he's in London).

Anyone played it?

Saying that, I've about 14 PS3 games and the only ones I've actually played are COD4 and Uncharted. I'm hooked! Maybe I should start some of the others before I buy more..

ps. Who's "ROSSKEMP" on the PSN? Anyone off here?

Army of Two got a 3 or 4/10 in Edge so I'm not going anywhere near it

(Smash Bros got a 9/10 Sinc - i've heard there have been issues with some of the discs not playing :? )

Dont read Edge. IGN gave it like 7.9 which is quite generous by their usual standards..

Didnt realise Smash Bros for the Wii was out yet? Might just by a Wii..

I usually find Edge pretty reliable in terms of my taste in games, so usually use them as a guide.

Smash was released in the US at the weekend, i think the EU release in pencilled in for the end of April (although Sinc doesn't think this is fixed yet)

ye, i'm quite brickin it on that front. basically it's a dual layered dvd which is more sensitive than the usual, if your disk drive is dusty then it causes issues apparently. fingers crossed on that one.
oh, and 9/10? a bit stingy perhaps? why not allow it a one off score out of 15 and give it 20/15 just to demonstrate how ridiculously, over the top, good it is and how it's better then anything else on the market and to get other developers to sit down and stfu with their 'trying too hard to be hard' bollocks.

i'm the same with cave shooters, i'm pretty crap at them but if i gonna get through stages without dying it's extremely satisfying.
personally i think these guys only look at their own ship and not any of the space around them, well certainly not where the bullets come out from, that shit just makes you dizzy. when they reach a certain level of ability they don't actually need to play in the 'twitch' style, they just know where to put the ship at the right time. i prefer the look of the ship dancing in between bullets like a crazed, panicked maniac (ie. when i'm playing).

haha, i've not read the review yet so i'll check to see if they agree! Mario Galaxy got a 10, and Halo 3 though (although more for the mulitplayer)..

European Xbox 360 price cut is official

News by Rob Purchese
Today 14:18
Microsoft will officially lower the prices of all its Xbox 360 units in Europe from 14th March.

The biggest saving will be made on the Premium unit, which drops by GBP 50 (EUR 80) down to GBP 199.99 (EUR 269.99).

Elsewhere the Arcade model will become the cheapest new-generation model at GBP 159.99 (EUR 199.99), while the Elite will fall to GBP 259.99 (EUR 369.99). That's GBP 40 off the current price in both instances.

"Xbox 360 is now mass market in Europe," said Chris Lewis, bigwig at Microsoft Entertainment Europe. "We have reached and surpassed several key milestones that form part of our long term strategic plan to achieve critical mass in Europe; and our portfolio now offers the kind of mainstream entertainment experiences that secure wider appeal for Xbox 360.

"History shows that GBP 159.99 is the price point where a console's audience begins to expand, and with these new ERPs in place we're ready to bring more consumers into the Xbox 360 world."

The announcement comes after the German Financial Times reported that the platform holder would reduce the cost of its console throughout our region.
