even after death, meka still ownz. i can't say enough nice things about this guy. every track released on FD that i told mike i liked, he was quick to send to me for free. to this day. one of my top 10 fav tunes is "mike honcho - toothache" very simple tune, yet it jams soooo hard. i will continue to throw that one down at shows, but i may just cry next i drop it. huge ups mike; we will all still think of what an incredible fella you were.

WILL PPL PLEASE STOP DYING??

I KNOW IT'S ALOT TO ASK, But would save the rest of us a lot of Heartache...

Mike always came across as a kind and supporting man, willing to communicate and respektful to those around him.

My deepest sympathies to all those close to him. RIP.
Every thing was fine until Chainsaw Calligraphy, when it suddenly felt like someone had raped my eardrums...

I wasn't around immediately to find out Mike had passed, so it took me a moment to process and write this. I hope that if anyone knows his family, they could pass this on, as it really does mean something to me to have known him.

____________________

When Mike Honcho was in his final hours, I was having the best moments of my life, and he was connected to it.

I was having the peak emotional experience of having my music career validated by all of my DJ friends who love me, playing many of my tracks, the pinnacle of all of these moments being Zeno dropping “Proverbs,” which is, in itself, a special track. There is no way to go back to “Proverbs,” as the day we decided to sign it over to Filthy, and the track was transferred from its original station in the studio to the mastering station, we had a power outage, and the surge of power coming back in the studio destroyed the hard drive in the primary station. We lost everything but the WAV, which became what Filthy put out. Irretraceable.

At times I was worried about how things were going with Mike’s vision, just because he was so incredibly adamant about his constant output, although I know I don’t know what’s best for anyone’s vision, it’s times like this when your dream and another person’s dream rub together like clouds to create the mental thunder we call growth that you see so deeply into what it’s really all about.

I was here to be a part of Mike’s dream. Mike was a part of my dream. In that, our eternal connection is neither present, nor gone, but it’s reverberations continue as I grow, and as my music grows.

I never was able to meet Mike Honcho in life, I only met him in the communication ground called the internet. I met him because my music and my dream needed a home for a moment, and everything that was and is made the connection because Mike and I believed in ourselves, and even through the limited communications we had on the internet, we learned to trust one another.

If you would tell me when I first knew who Mike was that I would make a deep and lasting connection between my life and his crossing paths and the growth and nurturing all of us need, I would have called you crazy.

But it is as unforeseen as his passing, as all life is, moments that beg of you to find your own meaning as the next wave of information awaits you, but let us not let the people and situations that mean the most drift under the tide.

It is in the motion of loving my own life that I find the peace that Mike’s dream gave to me, and it is now my duty to take that piece and never let it die, because that is what we do.

^ Well said Swatch!

I'll pass this along to Mike's family tommorow. I'll be meeting with them to help them collect his items.

Respects.
