Depends on the club.
Seems like a lot of kids these days think the only hiphop "club" is the stripclub. I love the dirty south, but the lowest common denominator shit is starting to get pretty tired. The kids fiending can't even fucking spell.

True, but there is nothing worse than a kid with no spacial awareness wearing a rucksack at a night.magma wrote:Depends on the club.

Don't worry your simple little head, rayman; I wasn't talking about you using the term.rayman612 wrote:Yeah if u want to like backpacking music then dont get upset when ppl call u a backpacker lol

I've proudly been a backpacker for the best part of 20 years (I struggle to see why any hiphop fan wouldn't want a bit of backpacker in the tbh)... I was asking why hugh would consider "backpacker" a "pathetic insult".

Vinnie goes ridiculous as per.
I'm starting to think Vinnie is one of the best rappers of all time. Dude has been going for so long and still delivers so hard.
I don't remember ever saying "Vinnie is the greatest of all time". But I wouldn't anyway cos I don't think you can say any rapper is the GOAT . Tastes change and styles evolve.
Re: What Hip Hop Song are you listening to?
Again, what the fuck is with people twisting my words to suit there argument today? Not all mainstream rap is terrible. I certainly don't care purely about technical skill either. Otherwise I wouldn't really listen to people like Celph Titled or Illmatic or whatever, they don't spit particularly well but both do things in their own way.rayman612 wrote:Hes not calling u a backpacker bc ur trying to look coolhugh wrote:Mate I'm a white 24 nearly 25 year old male from Newcastle Upon Tyne. Can we not try and use pathetic insults like "backpacker" when it has no relevance to me whatsoever. I say I have no idea how anyone can like that kind of stuff because it is terrible musically and the rapping itself is whack as fuck. I'm not just saying these things because I am trying to appear cool, I am well past that point, believe me.SCope13 wrote:Yeah Simmie is sick. Hes calling u that bc u have a shit attitude about what constitutes good hip hop music and care too much about technical skill and complain how all mainstream rap is terrible
Fair enough on the attitude part, I have no time for that very stylised "southern" sound. It sounds terrible to me because 1, I hate the fact that half the time they aren't even attempting to actually rhyme or even hit some kind of rhythm with their spitting, it's actually quite jarring and 2, the accents themselves are usually totally unbearable to me. And oh god, those hihats(3). And the beats themselves (4) Please. It's fucking dross.
So, you know, like I said, I don't understand why people like it.
Re: What Hip Hop Song are you listening to?
Let me guess: you listen to Immortal Technique regularly

Re: What Hip Hop Song are you listening to?
Come to think of it, I take back that comment on mainstream rap. I genuinely can't think of a single good mainstream hip hop tune in like the past 10 years outside of the occasional ok Eminem tune or a bit of MOP or something like that.
You have to realise that being from the UK means that our mainstream rap tends to get filtered a lot more than an Americans. Mainstream rap in the US is a much bigger thing. I think if you lived in the UK for a few years you would realise how bad it is over here.
But I am really not that blown away with these supposed new breed of great up and coming rappers. ASAP Rocky does nothing for me, Kendrick Lamarr does nothing for me...I just don't get it.
