my copy plays fine apart from the track return to space the highs are way too loud on my copy
and i have to more or less turn the highs off on the mixer to play it. Any1 else notice this?
Not heart broken just that was my fav tune n i'm not sure if it is meant to sound like that or not??

Purchased from Sounds of the universe - no skipping, heavy plates and top artwork.

Swear people don't understand how much of a science the needle weight and antiskate bizness is.

Mine's skipping but i've literally just unpacked and havent properly set up my decks yet so im not going to do anything drastic just yet.

Fucking sick release, i'd actually buy it purely for eyez to be fair.

Got my copy through the post today! Big big big.

Definitely a grower. Wasn't to keen on the tunes on first listen but once you burn them into your head...its some deep shit.

i don't get anyone having a problem with mala's uncompromising sound

i listened to it again tonight headphones into the mixer chillin on my sofa....it sounds incredible....there were savage frequencies in lee perry records too...not everything is going to sound like nero and good thing too as theyre fucking boringly clean

Tried various combinations of weight plus antiskate and still can't fix this one skip. Normally wouldn't mind a single skip on an lp of six tracks but I've been waiting for this for so damn long and it's my favorite on the lp... I want it to be perfect!

literally this.

every set of needles has a specific weight for playing different size vinyls, coupled with the type of tone arm you're using.

and all this skipping business, for like the third time in this thread, mine plays fine, and i have my needles set up perfectly weighted (tested with one of them electronic meter thingies) and im playing through Stanton STR8-60's with standard stanton cartridges, so nothing fancy at all, and it works fine

all this is detracting from what a quality set of tunes this is. though without doubt its an arsehole if yours is skipping.

to all those with skippping records - do you actually know the correct procedure for setting up your turntable??

If you don't have the weight & anti-skate set up properly, and you don't know how this should be done, I suggest you sort that out before you start claiming this record skips. There are plenty of tutorials on youtube etc.

Also, remember that stylii should in theory be replaced every 6 months if you use your decks regularly.
