Riding home from work, listening to my local "Urban" Radio station I am convinced that the messages conveyed in these songs and the underlying values they transmit are tantamount to a form of direct psychic warfare. Much of the mainstream music that is marketed to Black people today reinforces a program of intense and pervasive psycho-social conditioning that feeds the culture of self-destruction that fuels fratricidal murder in the inner city while ensuring that Wall Street's private prison stocks stay booming. This is no accident, there may or mat not be some vast conspiracy hatched and coordinated by a shadowy group led by the "illuminated masters of men", but we can be sure in identifying much of the mainstream "urban" (ie: Black) music industry and it's ancillary media outlets (B.E.T., Vh1, Radio One, WSHH etc.) as protectors of the present social, political and economic status quo. There is little room for songs, messages and images grounded in self-love, faith, self-determination or solidarity and you don't have to think too hard to find reasons why that is. I'm not telling anybody what to listen to, hell I listen to some of this questionable monkey ass shit myself but we do recognize this shit for what it is; psychic warfare waged in the interest of cultural counter insurgency."

I think people have a tendency to push back when they sense someone or something trying to have an effect over them. You gotta let people think it's happening organically.

I'm just saying, an easier (but still discrete) way would be to put pressure on people to make something fairly bullshit (but that a large amount of the public disagree with) illegal, and lock up loads of dudes because of it.
