Re: PUT YOUR WORKS-IN-PROGRESS HERE FOR FEEDBACK.
yo thanks for the feedback...
i checked your tune only on crappy headphones i use at work... but im digging the beat, its fat.
the bass sounds a bit garbled and like it needs some more sub (though this could just be my headphones) also, i would add some variation to the kicks. there are several parts where the higher freq melody does not seem to be in key with the bass (maybe it is in key, but the structure doesnt sound right)
i think you have a good start here though... especially the way the tune is structured.

UPDATE: I added a bassline to it.. you can hear it after the "horror and moral terror are your friends" quote.
Hip-Hop had the advantage of being born before the age of information (the internet).
It had time to develop naturally into the complex subculture it is today. Dubstep didn't have a chance.
If Hip-Hop was a fully developed husky feared by millions, then Dubstep is the inbred chihuahua on steroids incapable of living but adored by billions.

mate no.1 fucking go to sleep and do it in the morning!!! I did that, except for 1 week and so much shit in there that needed changing
also you are slightly being a forum izan without a hell of alot posts which kind of makes people not want to give you feedback
anyways to the song
from the short part which i can here, it has a really good vibe, you got what you want right on the spot
there is absolutely no bass but i'm guessing youll add that in later
low cutting your verbs would be quite good too, there a bit too in your face i reckon
and adding more layers to your back ground noise, slowed down samples of people talking etc and more rain, but reaaaaally quiet just to build up tension
First sort of ambience producer that hasn't totally copied burial
love to see what you thought of mine.... its up top...
Re: PUT YOUR WORKS-IN-PROGRESS HERE FOR FEEDBACK.
so this is my second attempt at dubstep so far still unfinished but its a bit of a strange tune
, i have recently been converted from producing dnb to makin dubstep and have been really enjoying just doing what i want as opposed to what i think i should be lol. i signed up here ages ago but wasnt sure whether i wanted to pursue the whole dubstep thing, but im enjoyin it so im gonna stick with it. this is only 4 hours work ish so its not fantastic but i hope i got enough in there for you to have a chuckle at. it is only my second serious attempt at dubstep though so dont expect anythin fantastic. sorry about the long intro but i felt a bit cheeky just postin a track and not sayin anythin
anyways i will be checkin out some of the other bits in here as it really seems a million miles away from other forum comunes. really great site you got here:)

My first language is not English, so I have a bit of a trouble guessing what certain terms mean.
By low cutting do you mean I should apply a LowPassFilter to it? Or do you mean it needs more EQing? ..or both.
and adding more layers to your back ground noise, slowed down samples of people talking etc and more rain, but reaaaaally quiet just to build up tension
Yes, I've added reverberated whispers to the background, and I'm looking for some more wet/filthy samples. More rain? Hmm.. I'll go get some more rains then, because if I continue using the same, after a while it could sound like a loop.
About your song:
I've downloaded it, listened to it, and found it interesting. Not the "I don't want to be rude but it sucks" kind of interesting.
I liked how your drops. It's the kind of song you can't get bored of easily, because it's not repetitive.
Especially after the first third of the song. In the beginning I thought "Wtf? Air raid siren?" but then it blended in pretty well.
The "wtf" reaction to it was caused by the contrast between the melody and the siren - the melody (to me) sounded calm and/or slightly happy, but the siren (because of it's purpose and meaning) sounds alarming and agressive/scary.
I like your wobble too. It's just as filthy as it should be.. not more, not less dirt, just enough.
I am no professional. I don't know shit about what Hz kicks/snares/hihats should be nor how I achieve that, so I'm sorry but I can't comment on works on a professional level.

I think it's good. I liked it.. I'm tired as fuck, so I can't really reason it or describe what I feel.. I think it's a nice and simple dubstep song.idlemode wrote:hey peoples.....sup

I'm happy to hear positive feedback on it. I changed the bass to a more filthy/growling sound.

Re: PUT YOUR WORKS-IN-PROGRESS HERE FOR FEEDBACK.
@junior spesh - checked out your tune - production on it sounds good, drums are sounding nice. however, it sounds like its two different songs put together. the transition from part 1 to part 2 isn't working for me. just my opinion though...

Re: PUT YOUR WORKS-IN-PROGRESS HERE FOR FEEDBACK.
THANKS 4 FEEDBACK, i literally did it in 5 mins, there is no mixing goin on wotsoeva, hence the transition sounding kinda off and sudden. i will upload the propa version if i decide 2 finish it, just wanted the opinion on the idea of the tune rather than it as an actual tune..dignan wrote:@junior spesh - checked out your tune - production on it sounds good, drums are sounding nice. however, it sounds like its two different songs put together. the transition from part 1 to part 2 isn't working for me. just my opinion though...
will be able to link the melodies 2geva nicely if i decide 2 finish....
Its a couple of patterns put 2geva so far lool
