As long you understand the broad concepts of dance music surely you can understand the sort of music being talked about in this subforum?
House is a feeling.

this thread should just be deleted tbh
Re: This subforum is completely []necessary

isn't all doom and gloom, now is it? the thread will fall into obscurity eventually
the silver lining is that we are at a point again in bass music where we don't know what to call it, future looks bright!

Re: This subforum is completely []necessary
Doesn't most music have bass? Bass music is about as silly as idm...I get what you're going for, but it undermines everything else. I listen to intelligent music, I like to think...where producers lead/have lead in terms of originality and rethinking genres. I don't classify it as idm because I see that as abstract drum sequencing and arrangement.
Same goes for bass music.
Again, the name "house" is perfectly fine because that seems to be a fine middle ground for a lot of the music posted up in here.

Re: This subforum is completely []necessary

i like how bass music is ridiculous to you but house is sufficient!!!!
too funny, who cares about such things, really? to many panties twisted in here
let's just enjoy the music and not care what others call it

Re: This subforum is completely []necessary
Yes, calling music "bass" is definitely more ridiculous than calling music house or techno, or even garage or dubstep...to me, of course
like I said, most all music has bass. Most dance music has bass. To say that one particular sound is "bass music" whereas another track with equal emphasis on bass contradicts its definition.
this topic is still being hashed out, but really there's no reason to change/delete this forum because there's nothing wrong with it. Change it to bass music and the diversity and intelligence will go straight down the toilet.

and yes...calling this forum "house" sits right with me because that's the name of this forum.
Re: This subforum is completely []necessary
right, then so maybe we should only post about funky tunes? 130 bpm and up? uk style house only, right?
but you're right. your 4 weeks of posting and lurking on here surely knows more than the years that this forum has been around and existed just fine

cause post limit means something... i was joking with you brother, by showing how silly it is to continue arguing!

Re: This subforum is completely []necessary
my point is that it IS useless to continue arguing about a forum name when it's had this name since its inception.
it works. why fix it? i know that's probably the 20th time that's been posted in this thread, but it's true.
any other title you might come up with for this forum is going to limit its users to a niche sub-genre.

if you look at my (boxxy's) posts you'll see that i agree with that since the beginning, but am open to alternative lines of thought that could be expressed here without bickering... we made it almost 5 pages
