enit.
proper excited about this, some seriously sick tunes and generally great productions as always.
altho i would of prefered arcane to be on the LP its still pretty heavy. things they forget, after sunset, the fifth, no more no less....all massive beats!
Arcane should hopefully be released on vinyl afterwards, Thinking suggested some more tracks would and anything Youngsta touches deserves to be pressed to wax.
Anyway- it's finally here! Purchased from Chemical yesterday

RELEASED!!!!!!!!!!!
Really, stupidly big, pretty safe to say this will bump shoulders with with some of dubsteps greatest albums....
Also pleased the usually halfstep-adverse boomkat have given it a stellar review, recognizing KM's ridiculous production levels and sound quality
Slick sophomore album from one of Dubstep's darkest units. Since stepping into the 140bpm shadows with 'One Of Us', the duo have almost fully assimilated the scene's characteristics, yet retained clear traces of their D&B DNA. 'Can't Sleep' features thirteen exquisitely engineered tracks, from the uptempo swerve and swagger of 'Just After Sunset' to the sprawling dread vistas of '1000 Lost Cities'. Previous single 'Can't Sleep' is at the core of the album, Alys Be providing their first vocal on a deeply moody halfstep roller and also appearing on the Burial-esque rollidge of opener 'Brief Passing', but the highlights for us have to be the 4/4 driven 'Arcane' with its chillingly dank sound sphere or the 'ardcore-tucked minor key symphonics of 'Alone', one for the sullen bassbin crew! There's a deadly sense of midnight dystopia and urban ennui which is articulated so beautifully through Kryptic's expert sound design and super-taut grasp of halfstep mechanics, which really shouldn't be ignored by fans of Burial, Pangaea, They Live or even Massive Attack.

Listened to it quite a few times and actually noticed every tune drops at 0:55. Kind of obvious but normally I don't notice it

so so sick, on a par with One Of Us for me. it's a shame that it's not sequenced in the same way as One Of Us with each track leading into the next, it sort of loses the feel of being a continuous work, however the tunes and level of production are next level, maybe even better than on the first album in my opinion.
but why is yunx not attributed to Arcane on the tracklisting? seems a bit off seeing as it's supposed to be a collab..

I'm looking at my CD now, and it says Arcane Feat: Youngsta.

This was well worth the wait. Being honest I think I was harbouring a few doubts - not to dismiss the last few releases, as I well and truly rinsed them all (except Follow Me VIP - not too big on it), but I don't feel there was much in terms of innovation coming forward like we saw with One of Us. I guess they were keeping the standard dark steppers coming out before they revealed their hand and completely flipped the script.
Will be listening to this for years to come.

I only got to rinse one vinyl tonight, but the Fifth on vinyl... I cannot coax myself to convey the words to adequately describe it. I haven't found a proper FLAC/Wav of the album yet, then again I haven't really searched, so I cannot speak of the album's flow just yet.
