I always liked the idea of Alphabrain - but their 'science' is false/misleading. I'm surpised if they really did believe in the flagship product they would have conducted a independent study to prove it.wub wrote:Cheers for the note, I'll be taking it with breakfast (eggs) as per my Alphabrain.SunkLo wrote:Wub if you're just going to be necking caps, make sure you eat protein beforehand or the noopept will get slaughtered by stomach enzymes. I stopped taking it orally and switched to sublingual to avoid having to worry about that. I used to occasionally take piracetam sublingually too, but noopept doesn't taste nearly as bad and the amount for one dose is so astronomically small. A large 30mg dose is smaller than the end of a headphone jack. Not the whole metal jack, just the very tip before the first black band. So sticking it under my tongue is really convenient compared to a fingertip-sized scoop of piracetam.

They have the results of a double blind placebo test on their site now I believe. But it's still slightly shady, and Aubrey Marcus is a tool.
Re: Intelligence Enhancers/Nootropics/Vitamins
Ive read all your reviews and stuff on here but i just wanna cut to the core and ask whether you feel that on the whole, using these drugs have actually improved your quality of life or not

I can't find the link because the word i'm searching "chemical" is interchanged in this context so it just shows up reviews. But you may find this article interesting http://www.sciencebasedmedicine.org/alp ... -industry/wub wrote:They have openly acknowledged that though innitz wrote:Based on 17 people tho? Re: Intelligence Enhancers/Nootropics/Vitamins
Read that article when I was first researching Alphabrain, it makes a lot of good points, especially regarding the proprietary blend and cost factors.
EDIT - it's already been mentioned in this thread as it happens;

Re: Intelligence Enhancers/Nootropics/Vitamins
I think the key issue here is that is it unlikely that the 11 ingiendents will cause any damage in the short term. But if you were to take it for a span of 20+ year then think one would need to reconsider. Simply because if don't know the long term effect, something beyond us mere lay man, some inter working it could change, something even a specialist doctor could not foresee.

Some of the iffier ingredients I wasn't entirely sure on I've checked with a doctor, but there are a lot of side effects for some of the nootropic touted supplements that can cause adverse reactions in certain cases which I touched upon on another site;nitz wrote:I think the key issue here is that is it unlikely that the 11 ingiendents will cause any damage in the short term. Think the cycling off is the key point, same with anything. Current cycle off is at least the length of the cycle itself for balance and to notice whether changes are substantial or just psychosomatic.I'd suggest speaking to a doctor about potential side effects of whatever you're selecting for your own stack. Choline, for example, can lead to urinary retention, blurred vision, increased retention etc, something that I wasn't necessarily aware of through Googling alone. And cycle off whatever you're taking as standard, same as with anything else of this nature.
Re: Intelligence Enhancers/Nootropics/Vitamins
What do you mean my cycle off? Do you meant to stop for a while/reduce?wub wrote:Some of the iffier ingredients I wasn't entirely sure on I've checked with a doctor, but there are a lot of side effects for some of the nootropic touted supplements that can cause adverse reactions in certain cases which I touched upon on another site;nitz wrote:I think the key issue here is that is it unlikely that the 11 ingiendents will cause any damage in the short term. Re: Intelligence Enhancers/Nootropics/Vitamins
Exactly.
If I've been taking a course for a fortnight, then my cycle off would need to be at least a fortnight (preferably longer) rather than just cracking open a new bottle.

The quality of my working life, definitely. I've found it's made me more focussed, less prone to distraction, and more creative with my problem solving.JizzMan wrote:You, noways and anyone else taking this stuff on the regular
Outside of work, I've had no ill effects when drinking on it, it doesn't give me issues sleeping when taken late in the evening (something that puts me off a lot of drugs, legal or otherwise), I can eat on it (again, a big factor for me).
Someone said it previously in the thread the best;
It won't swing your axe for you but it'll sharpen your blade.
BUT
It affects everyone differently, and I've read plenty of online reviews where people have experienced nothing from taking it.

Re: Intelligence Enhancers/Nootropics/Vitamins
Sounds good because at the end of the day this is a supplement impacting mental ability rather than physical. But if the supplement was for something physical, say you take 1 pill of vid D3 a day because you can't get enough I propablty would not advise coming off from it. Unless something significant happens like you move to a sunny place or started getting salmon. I see it like this:wub wrote:Exactly.

Food - main source of everything,
dietly supplement, where you cannot get said vitamin etc from food, but mandatory. vitamin pills/omega 3's/probotics etc
abiilty supplement - involve your ability to do something - take one and off.

Out here in uk there is no sunny day. No sun most of the year.
