For a minute - there was a genre called Italian Light Design -
I was into it - but I think it just got re-absorbed into minimalism...
Their thing was about how light and color affected surfaces...
and so they designed with planes - specifically to be illuminated...
Not in a garish way - not gaudy/i
Usually with pastels - like the deco in Miami, but newer...tighter, with the details

BUT - I don't like things to be too glossy...
so...I lean towards the rustic modern aesthetic....
kinda industrial...kinda shabby...kinda rustic
mostly because I like materials that age well....
that are clean/easy to clean - but have texture...character

...minus the bizarre antelope head - although I don't dislike it....

...see this dirtball place - I would fully love to live here for a minute....
..some kinda weird future urban jungle....

When I was a freshmen in college - I had a life drawing class
that was in this old high school building that was being renovated...
...and the top floor was the gymnasium - huge - ancient basketball courts...
and whenever it rained - and it was a tropical rain....
torrents of water would just be flooding down from the roof all over the place....
..so we would be all around this huge platform in the middle of the room
- drawing a naked person
....surrounded by trashcans - with full blown torrential waterfalls....
The sound in there was so crazy and it was just trippy as fuck.
It was great - I loved it.
Eckberg Hall - Romanesque Revival
