Re: Changes

Re: Changes
It was the bro wave that really crushed that place, imo. I don't think it has ever recovered. I often look over the production forum but there is never anything happening in there at all. The same threads sit there for a month.jags wrote:yeah me too. i have the feeling that's how most of SNH ended up here, sans a few people of course, the ones that don't produce. but is it just a coincidence that like 90% of SNH are producers/djs? i think the root problem is long-time users not participating in the production forum, which is for a few reasons:
1) too many bro questions & completely inane shit
I see 0 registered users, 10 guests all the time though. Who are all these guests? Are they all kids? I think most of them are.

Re: Changes
they're all 16-24 y/o dudes who are trying to learn how to make dubstep tbh, digging through sound design threads.
also keep in mind if registered users hide their online status they won't show up (i think)

Re: Changes
true but there was a time not too long ago when it was good. there was a good few months there were you, me, genevieve, sunklo, fragments and others were posting in several new threads pretty much daily.nowaysj wrote:It was the bro wave that really crushed that place, imo. good times.

Re: Changes
Think the Sound Design board in Production has been a success. The Contests sub forum, less so. Last showing on the sample pack contest demonstrated that as much.
Think we should roll Contests back into the main Production board and cut our losses

Re: Changes
I'm down with that, we might actually pull some more people into the very productive TUNA! Would be good to get some fresh TUNA! blood in there, though. Any chance we could get stickied, or whatever you call it in Production? We could just let it rise and fall with our activity. Either way
Sound Design might be going well, because that is the production board now! I expect you already know how I feel about that, from previous conversations, but imo splitting sound design off, has pulled the wind out of the production board, as most production questions are about sound design. Bah, you know best.

Re: Changes
Conversely, the majority of the sound design questions are coming from the Bro orientated producers, so taking them essentially into their own space is helping reduce animosity within the main Production board itself, IMO.

Yeah, that is why I say you know best. I still don't think I've ever gone in there.

He's not the best rapper or the best producer of all time, like I said, probably not close, but he consistently has a huge influence on hip hop and popular music as a whole.

The rule against trolling new members is great, but how are some of the regular ninjas gonna feel like the big badasses they are when they can't make fun of people for being new? It's a serieus kink in the new rule.

Re: Changes
Is it possible for the warning level to decrease over time? (maybe 1 level down every 3 months).

						Re: Changes
yeah what genevieve said
also how long is a member new for? and what constitutes 'unnecessary' trolling or whatever it says?

Re: Changes
That post is breeze in general. Drake's early stuff had nothing to do with bait08s and fartcakes.

Re: Changes
id really like a decent production board

i use to rinse it when i was like 16/17 and now its just fuckin painful lol but maybe its just my taste changing im not sure
a good convo about production other than bait shit i would get involved with daily. the techno/house production thread was quite good but even thats pretty dead
maybe jesslems idea about splitting it. basically bro step and bro house need their own section lol

Re: Changes
i find just sending shit to agent on facebook and asking his score of how much it would make him dance when mashed is a good alternative to the production board.
A good production board would be sick tho, its hard to keep it positive when its full of bros asking me why i cant make a wobble in massive

Re: Changes
what do you guys think about a running SNH production thread?
i feel like a production sub-forum in SNH would be awesome but obviously it would be segregating. maybe a thread would make a good balance?
