Serbian multi-instrumentalist Michal Capela aka KPK is a very exciting fresh new talent in the Dub:iouz Records stable. So far his claim to fame include one of his tracks being released on the ‘Fixations: serious one’ compilation alongside Hatcha, DFRNT et al on American label ‘Milkmoney’ (previously ‘Insectmind’). He also got fans and critics alike very excited with his performance at last year’s Exit festival. Now it’s time for the prolific prodigy to enter the UK scene with DBZ004.

F's debut album 'Energy Distortion' finally lands on CD following the epic 5x12"s teasers. The French stepper has carved out a well defined niche for himself on the periphery of the dubstep scene with a string of sturdy releases for 7even Recordings. His first album is a heavy statement of dub-tech intents, succinctly finding a maleable flex point between techno and garage enhanced with classic dub processing, continuing from where the Chain Reaction label left us but inna 2010 dubstep style. 'Energy Distortion' includes 13 permutations on this idea, swinging from more Detroit-inflected Shed-style killers like 'See The Light' to stripped down 4/4 garage functions on 'Perspective' and well-studied broken beat structures on 'Funk Injection', reminding of his peers 2562 or Martyn and the CD exclusives 'Hologram', 'Shift' and 'Another Place'. F stands out from the crowd with his rhythmic programming, giving his drums a distinctive, bristling shuffle that could be compared to the signature moves of Anthony Shakir, without overusing any one pattern sequence, ensuring his rhythmic energy is in a constant state of flux. This is probaby one of the best albums you'll hear in this style in 2010 and we urge you to check it if you're a fan of Untold, Ramadanman T++! Recommended!!!

The Tropics EP is something quite different and something quite special. The seven track mini album is the product of an 18 month collaboration between LA based beatmaker Teebs and UK producer Jackhigh, and is already attracting serious praise.

Back in the day, London based Jackhigh had already been featured as 17 year old on the genre-defining Beatnicks EPs from Up My Alley label and started to get involved in collaborations, producing remixes and so on, while an equally young Teebs found himself living in LA with Flying Lotus and Samiyam for flatmates. As Teebs remembers it, Jackhigh put a snippet of a tune he liked on Myspace and Teebs asked him to send it over. “I flipped it, sent it back. He added strings, sent it back to me again. I flipped it again” And so it continued, in a slow organic way, loops becoming processed and degraded and altered and added to, and tracks slowly emerging.

Over time a total of seven tunes emerged. These tracks were produced in a unique way: they never existed as arrangements laid out in software on someone’s computer, only as a single stereo file, passed to and fro, and endlessly worked and tweaked and eroded.

Still early into 2010 The Tropics EP is a very different record and a sign of things to come: fresh, organic, mature, holistic, unified, and totally next level.

We’ll putting out an ultra limited edition of 25 unique hand painted sleeves by Teebs which will be available directly from us in due course. Watch this website for details.

We’ll also produce a limited run of 25 of our high quality undyed cotton made in Serbia Svetlana t shirts based on Teebs’ design.

DZ hits the ground running, setting the mood for this tune with a synth that could easily be the prelude to an old warehouse track, subsequently dropping a classic house sample circa early 90’s to further reinforce the vibe. Nostalgia aside, you can bet on DZ for that next level bassline and he doesn't disappoint. About a minute in drops the extra wobbly bass that rides this banger to death, coupled with weaving vocals, and what sounds to me like some ’85 hip hop breaks slashed up and strewn throughout DZ’s twisted take on house music, this one's a heavy hitter.

AUF004 – AA - MARK INSTINCT “BADMAN SOUND”
"Badman Sound" is as rugged as the title suggests. Brace yourself for some serious business ‘pon this one. Mark sets it off hard as hell with a bassline that just grinds this tune out. Throw in a few rudebwoy samples, some air horns for good measure, badman edits and the classic ragga reference the tune derives its name from, and you've got another relentless track. Make no mistake, this cut is rude and will mash up every dance.'
