Just discovered this part of the forum, very interesting would never have thought it would be on here, and a lot of amazing books being discussed.

At the moment im reading The Go Between, which is pretty good i suppose, nice easy summer reading

But i just read Paul Theroux, The Family Arsenal which was very good.

I also saw somebody saying Shadow of the Wind, wasnt very good, i would say its one of my favourite books by far and everyone ive recommended it to has loved it also

A similar book and also very good is Winter in Madrid by C.J.Samson

Just finished reading a great book. Have read other ones by the same author, but for some reason got my hands on this one just recently. Shit cover though, this should be the one:

Now I wish someone guessed what is the book in question :)

Really good for a book that mainly says "Yeah, we don't really know about any of all that". He probably did write almost all of all the plays, he didn't fall in love with Elizabeth the fucking 1st and he probably liked to smoke the occasional... cock. Still the tenth most quoted person in the Oxford Dictionary of Quotations. My girlfriend's got a bit of a boner for him, so I thought I'd get the back story so I can win arguments again.

Brilliant. A bit old now, but for some reason I'd never got round to reading it. A lot of people cite Sagan with some fairly mental stuff, mainly based on his fiction (which is fucking amazing), so I was kind of sceptical of his non-fiction for a while. He's brilliant... imaginative, but totally logical... he doesn't believe anything particularly wacky at all, but has the most amazing visions for the possible direction of our species and he's quite good at bringing you back to Earth with the probabilities... really worth reading.:U:

I know it's a bit of a clichè but on of the best books I've ever read was 'Catcher In The Rye'. I'm just starting 'Ulysses'. This is a tough book to read. :s Mad start

My mum just sent me The Unconquerable World by Jonathan Schell, not sure if I should read that or Virgin Soil by Ivan Turgenev.
