Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
If I recall correctly, ableton converts mp3s to wav every time you drop one into a session. Anyone know where these wavs are saved? Pretty sure im not crazy?
Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
Brain fart how can I automate SYNCD LFO rates in live?
when I map it it shows up as a value from 0 to 100 on the automation line rather than actual rates that make sense or any sort of real scale.
And also, any other tips/advice on automating and controlling LFOs

^ there's an envelope called LFO rate synced
now i got this weird problem with ableton: when i try to import stuff for example acapellas or or samples, it gives this error message at the bottom: "blahblahblah.mp3 could not be read. it may be corrupt or not licensed". the way it does that is completely illogical, like acapellas i've downloaded from acapellas.co.uk while others work others just give out that silly message??

This comes up every once in a while. Try reinstalling Quicktime.topmo3 wrote:^ there's an envelope called LFO rate synced

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
Ableton needs it to run properly, as far as I know.topmo3 wrote:why quicktime? i'm on a PC and i'm not even sure i have quicktime
I think they must be located in the Ableton cache folder. See your settings.fv2k wrote:If I recall correctly, ableton converts mp3s to wav every time you drop one into a session. Anyone know where these wavs are saved? Pretty sure im not crazy?
Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
But I still have a scale that is between .3 and .89 on the automation. I want something that I can interpret as a rate, and moving the automationm ever so slightly changes the rate by ridiculous amount. This makes most automation curves for LFO hardly curves and just very slight slants using values that don't have any realistic meaning.topmo3 wrote:^ there's an envelope called LFO rate synced

Other REALLY WEIRD thing that happens. If I drag the Syncd lfo rate fader at the bottom of the screen in the massive plugin from top to bottom, the mix and max change each time...
i.e. Drag to max, max is .41. Drag to min, min is .027. Drag to max again and max is .93.
what is happening.
Also, how do I remove configured parameters in the massive plugin? i can't just simply delete them

This is a useful feature, but will only lead him to the *.mp3 file, I think, not to the decoded wave file.OfficialDAPT wrote:Right click on sample and select show in browser.fv2k wrote:bumpfv2k wrote:If I recall correctly, ableton converts mp3s to wav every time you drop one into a session. Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
Just started using Ableton again for the first time since school, and I prefer it over Reaper and FL. Just thought I would mention that.

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
ok erryone now when using sidechain compression, if i have a drum rack for drums and i want the synth / bass / whatever to duck only when the kick comes in,ignoring every other drum hit on the track. how can i do that? in other daws i've made a separate track just for the kick now i'm sure there's an easier way to do that in ableton?

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
Well you can just choose which sample/chain you wanna use as a sidechain input...

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
There should be two boxes when selecting the input for the sidechain . The first box select the drum rack, second box select kick-post mixer.topmo3 wrote:ok erryone now when using sidechain compression, if i have a drum rack for drums and i want the synth / bass / whatever to duck only when the kick comes in,ignoring every other drum hit on the track. how can i do that? in other daws i've made a separate track just for the kick now i'm sure there's an easier way to do that in ableton?

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
Enable the LFO, it should be automatically assigned to the pitches of the 4 signals- A, B, C, D.
